Just come off the motorway at Chapeltown and back into Hillsborough, and large sections of Halifax Rd (just above Lidl) and the road from Ecclesfield towards Halifax Rd (Yew Lane, is it?) were in darkness with all the alarms going off. Looks as though there's some sort of power cut - anybody know why?

Yes, apparantly where was a major area cable failure in postcodes Sheffield 6, 5 and 35.

We`re S6 just off Halifax road and have been back on for about 10 mins but next door haven`t :loopy:

Funny enough over the road never went off at all and neither did 3 doors down on our side of the road. :confused:

Just got our power back on..... what fun.....:rolleyes:

Never seems quite as exciting when your an adult does it when the power goes off, hunting round for tea lights, no batteries in the torch, kids moaning because the tv doesn`t work. :suspect: :hihi:

sheffield 5, our lights keep going on and off.

Ours too,gone off twice tonight.....hope it's soon fixed,got a dvd to watch :(

i work in the nursery on yew lane was that alarm going off!!

i live in s6 and mine have flickered a couple of times which has set one or two house alarms off on the road.

it makes sense now!!!! We too have had flickering lights all evening and we're at walkley :)

We're at Wadsley Bridge and have had lights flickering a couple of times.
Also lost street lights for a while but back on now.

i was at gala bingo last night on kilner way just off halifax rd an there electric kept goin off it happened two o three times an then computers took ages to continue games

think its ghosties meself making the lights flicker

Really annoying having to reset the time on everything!

It must have only been just that top part of S5 cos our lights stayed on but my sisters went off....YE told her it was a fuse that had gone!!
