Why the hell do they play the music from their phones so loud on the buses now. Ive recently had to start using buses again and was shocked when every single bus I seem to get on, there is almost a competition to blast out the loudest garage music from their phones/mp3 players. I can even hear it over my walkman. I wish they would use some headphones.

Why not buy a phone and outblast them with decent music?

I don't understand it either. It's not as if they can actually hear the "music" with any kind of clarity and all everyone else can hear is an intensely annoying tsssk-tsssk-tsssk. I think it's just them trying to be "hard" and deliberately being disrespectful of others. I've started telling them to turn them off.

It is only slightly better than hearing them communicating with each other at the tops of their voices effing n blinding between syllables. :shakes:

it's not just buses, there was a girl walking round the shops with her mate with one on, you couldn't hear what it was, just a faint sound of the drums. The thing is I have one of these phones and you can listen to them through the hands free kit ( which sounds the same quality as my ipod) so it's obviously to get attention imo, It also drains your battery really quickly so on the up side there should be none of the little attention grabbers straining your ears on the way home:hihi:

I've been on the tram twice in the last couple of weeks and been subjected to the questionable musical taste of some ignorant pre-teen. It's not big and it's not clever. Oh, and you can't actually tell what the hell it's supposed to be whereas if you use those outdated things called earphones, you can understand what you're listening to :rant:

To be fair it doesnt bother me whatsoever. Theres more important things to worry about that hearing some music from a kids mobile phone.

You want to try walking around college, I am at uni and haven't heard it there but my little girls goes to nursery in college. Every day when I go to pick here up there is a huge group stood round the doors trying to out do each other with tinny 50 cent tunes, its really annoying. They are all really rude and wont move out of your way too.

I can't stand them. The reason no-one can draw a conlusive answer to the question is due to the fact that this lil sub-culture is DRAWKCAB (backward)! Everything about em. Their backward terminology, their backward behaviour. Its as if all the values and norms of mainstream society are refused and turned upside down as in some form of opposition for some stupid cause/reason(?). Totally baffling to some extent. Hate the lot of em. My sis is like it. WHATS WITH ALL THE GOLD!? FFS. NASA SHOULD EMPLOY THIS INSTEAD OF THE LEAD IN THE SPACE BOOTS! IT WOULD KEEP ASTRONAUGHTS FROM FLOATING AWAY WHILST LOOKING "FASHIONABLE"! (:huh:) Cant stand everything about em. Possibly if we 'the old people over 20' actually talked to the younger people they may not be so aggressive/cheeky/obnoxious.

They are looking for a reaction and if the reaction isn't what they expect they would be shocked into silence. Hows about asking the kid on the bus playing his phone "what ar you listening to?" (with an interested tone) and see what happens.

I know it was me and my mates ,times have changed along with technology As long as there not hurting anyone let them enjoy thier music.

Or come round to my place and listen to my son and his mates blasting out some real heavy metal when they have a practice night and it's our turn to provide all the munchies .

When I have the misfortune to have to travel by tram I can near enough guarantee that there will be a gaggle of gum chewing hood rats with the tune du jour blasting forth from their mobile phones while the rest of the pack sit there inanely bellowing "Yeah man, that tune's sick as f***".

Music can good if played through a decent medium (like a well set up B&O system for instance) not a £40 mobile phone set to 'speaker' mode clutched by the over pudgy hand of some spotty 13 yr old oik.
