does anyone remember or worked at thorp pit:thumbsup:

im an ex miner but never heard o that pit ..... good old days they were , wish theyd come back

thorp pit was just rotherham side of chapeltown as was barley hall pit. not bad times at all enjoyed it some fine men worked there

its probobly like smithywood,in as far as hardly anything seems to be available ,and hardly anyones heard of it,
and yet these places were the bread and butter of many families,
im shure ive a picture of thorpe pit in a book,il have a look,
