I just wanted to show my compassion and empathy.

The news came as a shock to me because I wasn't aware she had become that badly ill. I grew up watching her on Blue Peter and always regarded her as a charming presenter full of life.

She was just 41 and left behind 2 young boys.

Yes our sympathies should go out to her family.
It is such a young age to pass away.

The news is very sad indeed. :(

This is incredibly sad news. It has come as a total shock to me as I didn't even know she was ill!

Reading this thread was the first I knew.

Wow - now there is something I didn't know.

I also saw her on Blue Peter and thought it was nice that she was working in TV like her mum. I heard something a while ago about her being ill, but I thought she had won her battle....obviously not.

Love and blessings to her family. :(

Didn't know about it until now - didn't exactly expect it.

Another person lost to the Big C
It is a shock because it was unexpected and because she was so young, I also grew up watching her on Blue Peter and because of that the shock value is increased.
Its sad news and my condolences go out to the family, and her mother.

Having had the pleasure of her company a few times, it is really sad to see yet another young woman killed by breast cancer.

She leaves many happy memories.

I also had no idea that she was ill. I feel that a part of my child hood has died. So very truly sad. :(

Its possible her Mum Gloria Hunniford wanted this to remain in the family being a private person she is.
Not everyone wants to tell the whole world your offspring is dying.

A very sad day for her family, especially her husband and Children.
I lost a cousin last year at 43 and its such a young age.
