With regards to the Change in the band Sugarbabes i wondered if there were any further bands that have survived the change or indeed failed... like our first homemade Pop band HearSay!?

Sugarbabes... Band member Siobhan Donaghy left... in stepped Heidi Range... band member Mutya Buena left... in stepped Amelle Berrabah... Success! twice over :) I do however believe Mutya will be back... in the summer

Attomic Kitten... Band member Kerry Katona left and in came Jenny Frost... Success! Altho split now it wasnt due to the band changes!

Hearsay... band member Kim Marsh left and in came Johnny Shentall Failure!

Do you know any other bands?

Oasis, they've had quite a few chages to there line up and are still going strong.

I think the use of the word "band" is misplaced. Your three examples are "entertainers" -

In the case of oasis, it must be a great job cos they are really just the gallagher brothers + AN Others

Get yourself as an other and have a rock and roll lifestyle and no one knows who you are...

Van Halen - changed singer and continued.
Marillion - changed singer and continued
AC/DC - singer died, replaced and continued,
Genesis - Singer left, drummer became singer, guitarist left, drummer turned singer left and replaced.
Yes - apart from the bass player I think everyone has left, been replaced, left again and been replaced again several times over
Rainbow/Deep Purple - How many line ups can you go through Ritchie?
Whitesnake - Changed everyone except the singer several times over.
Kiss - Only two members constant.
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Singer and Guitarist died in a plane crash in the 70s. Still touring.

Is there a theme developing here?:hihi:

I am extremely annoyed when people call these Vocal Groups Bands.
A band is a group of musiscians who play music together. Not a bunch of skinny models who mime or sing karaoke to a backing track.

Band = The Beatles
Band = The Black Dyke Mills Band
Band = Lindsey String Quartet

What do they have in common? They play musical instruments. They don't need anyone's help to perform a concert, and they could perform all their tunes with no electricity in the street.

Iron Maiden - 3 singers, 2 drummers, at least 3 guitarists.
AC/DC Actually, the only constant member is Angus Young. Bon Scott was the chauffer before he was the singer, and Brian is the third singer. They have had about 5 or 6 drummers. Malcolm is seamlessley replaced by his cousin Stevie when he has one of his turns during a tour and nobody notices, 2 bass players.
Motorhead, together for 30 years, occasional line up changes. As long as Lemmy is there who cares?
Rolling Stones - The grand daddy of all rock and roll bands. 3-4 guitarists, 2 bass players but As long as the Glimmer twins are still there who notices the rest.
Aerosmith, formed in the early 1970s, and had a fall out, replacing the 2 guitarists for 1 or 2 albums, later everyone made up and as far as i know are
still with the original line up.

The Who.. Half of the original band are dead, but they still keep touring.
The Ramones.. Again many changes but the only thing that stopped them was too many dead to carry on.

The Beatles... There's only 2 of the original Beatles left, Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney, John Lennon and George Harrison are both in Heaven.

Rich, what are you on? How many more threads are you going to post on giving the wrong info ~ this has to be the fifth that I've noticed since yesterday evening.:loopy:

The Beatles split up over 35 years ago, and it wasn't anything to do with changes in line-up.

The Rolling Stones have had many changes to the line up in the past 40 years, and it hasn't done them any harm.

I agree music will never be as it was way back in day of real music... but please... i use the word band loosely...

Pop acts maybe is a better choice of word!?

Yes thanks Angel, I'm sorry but as I am a proper musiscian I get really annoyed by this.

Whadayamean back in the days of real music.?
There is more real music today than there has ever been before!

Try listening to radio 6. In my view a full channel which is a whole organisation to replace the Sadly departed John Peel.

Revisiting this thread. I don't think bands like Rainbow and Whitesnake should be included.

Because Rainbow is basically the Richie Blackmoor Project
Whitesnake is basically the David Coverdale Group [ he didn't want to call it that because he thought DCG sounds like a bank]
Van Halen is basically Eddie's Band and all you have to do is watch an interview to see he's the boss.
And as sharpend correctly deduced Oasis is basically The Gallagher Brothers Band

Ok not a band as such, but destiny child
4 members 2 left and a new 2 joined then one of them left, must not have been room next to beyonces big head.

TLC left eye died they said they would never replace her, now they are doing a reality show to find a new 3rd member, can't wait to see how that goes down.

Um, yes, Angel - pop acts would be a much better phrase to use

I was a little surprised to read your posting - going by the title, I thought you would be talking about the Manics, maybe the Charlatans, or similar.

The use of the term 'band' does imply some degree of talent.....

Sorry, but it's an emotive thing.

The Rolling Stones have had many changes to the line up in the past 40 years, and it hasn't done them any harm.

The Stones have had only 3 changes to their permanent line-up since 1963:

Brian Jones was replaced by Mick Taylor, who was later replaced by Ron Wood.

Much later Bill Wyman left and he wasn't replaced. They just use a top session bass player for tours and albums.

Nirvana went through a few drummers and had a 2nd guitarist on Bleach - then Dave Grohl joined and they made 'Nevermind'.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have changed a few times, original members being only Anthony Kiedis and Flea, John Frusciante left and came back once or twice aswell (its a while since i read Anthony's autobiography so cant remember all the details) it doesn't seem to have hurt them too much, must say i prefer current line up, even back in the day with blood sugar sex magic!

Metallica - Various changes and still going strong even if not as good as they used to be in my opinion.
