OK, so it's been closed for a few years now, and it's still an empty wreck of a building.
I'm trying to find out who owns it so I can see if it's up for sale or lease.
Anyone know anything about it, or be able point me in the direction of finding out?
Thanks.

Hollywood was never as good as us.
I was the DJ there for 5 years, and the place was great.
I've heard loads of rumours about the sell-off process, but since it's still an empty space a few of us have our own conspiracy theories!
I've had the idea of turning it back into a bowl. Since I've been in the business for over a decade I could make a go of it.
Just need to know who owns the building first.
I heard it sold for £4 million, but I don't know why anyone would spend that amount of cash and not do anything with it.

Does anyone agree that the Bowling alley at handsworth desperately needs "doing up" ? My friends and I think its a dump to be brutally honest, its so oldfashioned!

If I remember correctly, it was bought from First Liesure back in the olden days.
As it's a small independant, it lacks the financial backing to do it up.
I wonder if he'll sell it to me?

ahh the FASTLANE, that used to be good too :(

(its quite close to me too)

with the possiblity of tram links being forged to there it might be a business goldmine

Fastlane is quite close to me too! It does get a fair bit of business though, despite its oldfashioned appearence... I know a number of schools who have arranged to do offsite Physical Education in association with fastlane. So they do get quite a bit of money really.

Well, it did have some major changed over the years....I think things got worse then they cut down the bowling lanes and got those silly fairground cars in there.

They ripped out Quasar for those cars. They never did very well.
Having said that, after hours we'd stick the speed on max and go crazy. 8)
The first two weeks of having them installed we had four members of staff go off sick with whiplash related injuries and broken bones. Great stuff. :D

Yes, Holywood Bowl does seem to do well doesn't it? Perhaps there is room in the market for a competitor if the location is right.

maybe some help but a quote from a free lil flyer posted through some doors near here called north east sheffield express and on the 1st page is a story about the area title "kilner way plan with minister" and here is a quote "the application from Yorkshire properties LTD., an isle of man-based property company, would see the demolition of the existing buildings with the exception of the superbowl and there replacement by eight new retail units."

Strange, i'm sure the girders were still there when i went past on Saturday, they have big security gates up now instead of the pile of rubble that was blocking the entrance.

I used to frequent the Superbowl, as it's quite close to where i live, with my mate(s). I thought it'd go down the pan when they took out Quasar and put in the dodgems. The track wasn't really big enough though and the cars seemed smaller (though i am 6ft5  ) than the fairground ones.

The bit i liked most was the bar (the beer was ok, the lasses serving were better .

Did anyone ever find out anything about this old wreck of a place?

They have gutted it but left the face of the building on, including the steel structure.

I would love to see something done with this unused area of space..... but the last thing i would like to see is more bloomin flats! Some nice houses with Gardens would be so much better!

I cant see them building houses climaxchick as it's a very built up area now. I'd ahazard a guess they'll build a small business park on there or a few more retails stores etc

Perhaps a local Hillsborough businessman has bought it.
