Thanks

I can't help you, but it might be clearer if you expand upon what you mean by a "web album", how big it is going to be and how you want people to view it.
Is it just for simple viewing or do you want Search capabilities?

Depends what you want to do?
I either use <img src = etc> to put images where I want on the page, or use the freebie from Microsoft (slide show wizard powertoy, here (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx)) to display thumbnails and a slide show. Probably neither of which do what you need... :)

Microsoft has a program you get free with new Windows XP systems. It's called "Picture it" Not too difficult to use.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I just want to upload around 50 photos to a web site, I have no idea how to create a web site.

I want see pictures as thumbmails and then click on to get larger version, maybe slideshow capability.

I have seen things like this before, but dont know how its done.

I guess I could use Photobucket, but I wanted to create a page myself.

umm.....
My host uses cpanel, so I usually upload through that. Your host may have a similar type of file manager, even freewebs include some means of pulling files up. As you will have discovered, the powertoy generates a number of files, you need to upload them all for it to work properly.

Otherwise, go to visicom (http://softwares.visicommedia.com/en/) and download AceFTP, there is a free version as well as the commercial one. I found that easy to use, though it sometimes struggles with large files.Actually, scratch that, it always struggles with large files!
I'm sure other members will recommend ftp software that is more reliable and also free? How to sort-of depends on which software you choose.

HTH :)

Filezilla (http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/) is about the best completely free one I've found so far...

How you connect & where you upload it to kind of depends on your web host. If you have any problems once you've entered server name & username & password, then post here what the problem is & I'm sure someone will help out.

Thanks everyone, I now have a little picture site uploaded, using Microsoft HTLM Slide show wizard and the Filezilla ftp software.
