My computer won't remember my username on any of the websites I regulary visit. Its due to a cookie problem. I've been in control panel, asking the system to accept all cookies. Doesn't make a blind bit of difference.
Now I'd like to use system restore. I have done this with my XP laptop, but this one is running win98 SE. Can't find system restore. Did it exist on win 98?
Plus I bought the win98 laptop from a computer shop on Ecclesall Rd, I dont have a win98 disc. What can I do to solve this mess?? Help!!!!!

i seriously doubt that you'll need a system restore. i dont think it existed on 98 anyway.

you're probably now accepting all -new- cookies, but you've probably got IE set to still decline cookies from certain sites.

assuming you're using the latest IE:

in IE, go to tool, internet options, privacy, then click 'sites...' - do you have a list of urls in the 'manage web sites' list?

if so, click 'remove all' and try visiting your sites again.

Antivirus/firewall ?

You haven't by any chance got an antivirus/firewall turned up too high ?

We maxed our right to the top recently and found it blocked third party cookies so we needed to tone it down a little by switching to "prompt" rather than decline. We are on mcaffee btw
