Sweet Wake, although only 5-2, will bolt up in the opener (2.00)

Accordion Etoile in the 2.35, although Wild Passion at 20s is a good outsider.
Arcalis in the Champion Hurdle at 3.15.
Brave Inca to be bridesmaid once more.

I've got a hunch that Brave Inca's going to do it... now then .. off to BetFair ;)

I looked at Wild Passion in the 2.35 but decided against it - I also looked at and may have a little bit on Irish Hussar in the 4.00 if I can get more than 33/1 against it each way just as a rabbit.

2pm Foreman
4pm Bob The Builder.

Where's the bookies scourge Angelus when you need him...on second thoughts I want to win some money.

Internetowl
14-03-2006, 03:11 PM
Well thats the first one in, Sublimity finished 4th and just missed out each way, Sweet Wake - the favourite, got hammered on the hill. Foreman - no idea where that was :)

So what ever happens to the rest I'm in profit.

Groan - my banker had no legs!

Tony
14-03-2006, 03:16 PM
That was a storming finish! This might just turn out to be a decent meeting after all :)

(Not sure about those horse adverts though. I suspect I'll be throwing stuff at the monitor after day 1 :hihi:)

Internetowl

I thought the distance might have been a bit short but the struggle on the hill helped no end - the adverts are shocking :)

Foreman quite obviously came nowhere in the 2.00 - he is running in the 2.35!

I was going to say Foremans just finished 3rd in the next race :)

Arcalis my last hope. Certainly not that hopeful now!

Tony
14-03-2006, 03:59 PM
Place your bets for the Champion Hurdle!

Brave Inca. £50 W
Covered with Hardy Eustace £20 EW :)

I said I was stopping putting money on horses unless I'm there ! :shakes:

Guderian

I may have egg on my face soon, but for me Brave Inca is not a Champion.
Hardy, but not enough class.
That said, its a weak race this year and Hardy Eustace is struggling for form.

I have gone for Arcalis, but after his last race my hopes faded, when he was pulled up.

Brave Inca - and a bit e/w on Asian Maze

Korelo. Although I suspect no one is listening to me anymore!

Tony
14-03-2006, 04:53 PM
Moulin Riche if you can find the odds.

Korelo is shortening fast though. Alderburn is pushing out so if you're going that way hang on.

Edit: Moulin Riche is improving now... might have a dibble.

Unlucky Internet Owl!

In fact you have had two winners, so its not that unlucky...

Internetowl
14-03-2006, 06:01 PM
not that unlucky - Irish Hussar popped up at 66/1 third with a small amount each way. Two winners, a second (would be nicer as a winner) and a place 66/1 which will pay a bit. I'm not greedy - I'm playing with their money the rest of the week :) Had the other one not fallen it would have been in the shakeup too no doubt.

I thank you! :D

nice one mate. Did you get much of a price around Inca - it was 2/1 this am early doors and was never going to be much better at sp.

Tony
14-03-2006, 06:11 PM
7/4 so a bit better but not much :) 4/1 on the covering bet :D

I'm glad I only had a fiver on Moulin Riche though - what a lousy race for him.

Well Day 2 approaches and its a bit damp :)

Tony

Nothing takes my fancy in the QM to be honest. It should dry up a bit though.

Internetowl
15-03-2006, 09:38 AM
I was looking at Paddy the Piper in the 4.00 - might be worth a little snip each way ;) The QMC is a nightmare race, nothing immediately comes to mind. Might have to get a morning paper today

Tony
15-03-2006, 09:48 AM
Yea he might do, but I have rules for always winning internetowl :D.

Rule 1: Only bet if on the course. (that's up in smoke ;))

Rule 2: Only bet if you are 75% sure it's a winner. (hard to do this year with so many horses that are either injured or dead!)

Rule 3: Only bet if you can cover the bet (that way the wife gets to collect winnings from her 'little place/ EW bet' from the Tote window each race - good family politics ;))

Rule 4: Avoid anything resembling a cavalry charge. (That includes EVERY final race of the day. :))

Rule 5 Walk away with more money in your pocket than you arrived with after paying for the day out (Sounds good when you say it :hihi: )

Internetowl
15-03-2006, 10:05 AM
No.1 - Geography and kids at school rule out that.
No.2 - No such thing, no point having a bet if you don't think it will win
No.3 - Fully agree
No.4 - I love a cavalry charge so got to disagree. The fun is picking your way through the 'handicap' and working out which horses are better off due to it.
No. 5 - The ideal situation, I've got enough from yesterday to pay for a little punt for the rest of the meeting (3 days and still have my original stake so I'm quite happy, gambling with their money)
No. 6 - Consider the money staked as gone and worry not about it - if you're worrying about the cash being bet, you shouldn't be doing it :)
No. 7 - Share your winnings with the family, my wife loves it when I come home with a bundle for her and the bin-lid.

morning chaps, any tips for today. Ive just back Darkness each way in the 2.35

Internetowl

Today Matthew I will be mostly selecting...

2.00 Mr Nosie
2.35 Commercial Flyer
3.15 Central House
4.00 Paddy the Piper (E/W)

Guderian
15-03-2006, 02:24 PM
Well I agree with two of yours:

2:00 Denman - cant see past him
2.35 Commercial Flyer
3.15 Have gone for Central House, but would love it if Moscow flyer won

Internetowl
15-03-2006, 02:28 PM
Denman will probably win - but the odds will be shocking 5/4 at best and hardly worth a bet unless you're lumping it on, and thats not a great idea. Moscow Flyer is too old and is whay out of form. I honestly hope he gets round ok

Paddy the piper is 40/1 nice for the each way

Internetowl
15-03-2006, 03:14 PM
Well thats another 'red' hot horse down the pan - Denman just lacking when it came to the crunch. Watching it on TV they were saying the bookies have had a right result in that getting turned over. B'stards :)

Well after yesterday's farce

2.00 Reveillez
2.35 Impek
3.15 Mighty Man
4.00 Billyvodden

nice and safe.

Heartborken after yeaterday. Received a text from a pal on Monday, advising me to back "Skys The Limit" yesterday, as his old man had recd
"news from Ireland"
I ignored it - it won at 11-1!
I have a soft spot for Barracouda, and whilst he may be a bit too long in the tooth now, have to back him as will never forgive myself if he wins.
And yeah, I realise I am letting heart rule head!

another one scraped home at 9/2 - more profit :)
