View Full Version : Do any of you use telewest TV?

Dont know if this is in the right place if not then mods please move it.

Tonight my tv package has seem to be down graded for somereason. now befor anyone askes yes i have payed the bill on the 28th of feb and it was due to be payed no later then the 7th of march so ive pay it well befor the date.

So i want to know has anyone els package been downgraded in the last half hour ?. I have try to ring them as it did say at first quote a number but they not open, so ive re-booted the box and now i only got a few chanels and all the other ones are locked saying ive not payed to view these channels. This get me so mad too has now im wondering if i get charged for re-connecting even tho my bill is payed. so has anyone els got problems with the tv too.

Pull the card out and put it back in. mine did that once and that fixed it

mine seems fine - nothing missing as I can tell. I'd ring them and query it.

Ours is ok too but when we do have any problem (not often) taking the card out and putting it back in usually does the trick:)

Thanks for all your replys. But after reading them and trying to push the card in and out with no sucsess i finaly got in touch with them, and they tell me that it has been downgraded because i asked for the service to be turned off :huh:.

But after i told them i done no such thing and payed my bill on the 28th feb, i got a call back to tell me it is a mistake and that it was not me but anouther customer on the same road has me that is ending with telewest and mine has been turned of insted of this other persons.
I had my phone turn off befor by mistake when they come to do work in the main green box a few time due to knocking a wire out, and i had channels been turn off too, but never a full package.
Top it off they say i may be billed for it to be turned back on and i got to look at my next bill to see if i been charged three months tv/internet in advance as this is normal when you do get cut off you have to pay it, pluss a £10 connection fee, and they tell me they can not stop this at this time. So i got to ring them and sort it when my bill comes out to my home and if i got to pay it i ither get my money back or it will go on my next bill. I never use to have problem with telewest at my old home its ever since i moved home i had problems. But that to me a bit out of hand when it was not my falt in the first place.

Refuse to pay the next bill when it comes! Ring and say you want to speak to the highest manager you can. when that person comes on demand to speak to their boss or you will take it to the Sheffield Star. I have had a few problems with Telewest but they have always sorted them out pretty quickly

telewest are so haphazard at the best of times. I gave them bank details for ddi. The girl put on notes I was paying ddi but never activated it! :roll:

Had a similar problem myself in that my internet connection just stopped working one day, checked PC, wireless connection etc all looked ok and I had not changed anything with my setup, bills all paid etc. Called Telewest and was told my internet account had been deactivated and had I asked for it to be cancelled, which was no. Finally they reactivated and everything was ok. So I think its a random telewest cockup that seems to occur from time to time.

If you don't currently pay your bill by Direct Debit, you should be fine. Just call them up and query the bill if it is wrong. If they wont budge, and insist that you pay, threaten to move to Sky (but do make sure you've exhausted every line of communication open to you).
