Yiderlier 02-03-2012, 11:54 Hi all,
Myself and my girlfriend want to go for dinner on Saturday but are unsure whereabouts to go. We have been to Mediterranean, Antibo and really like them, but want to know what is good in Sheffield!
We were looking at the Wig and Pen!?
Thanks
TurksHead 02-03-2012, 12:19 try la scarla on abbeydale rd/archer road superb
strada, ego, cafe rouge, although they are chains I have had many a nice meal and excellent service at all of them.
alternageek 02-03-2012, 17:29 The Milestone at the Wig & Pen is supposed to be nice
Cubanas as well
Yiderlier 03-03-2012, 08:59 Cheers
Anymore suggestions? I am thinking that Wig and Pen may be the way to go!?
The millhouses has a great menu and is a nice place to spend the evening. My friend and I have been there a few times recently and have loved each meal we have had there.
Whatsonupnor 04-03-2012, 17:17 Hope you found somewhere nice! For future reference here are another few to be recommended: Silversmiths, Locanta, La Mama, Nonna's, Cricket Inn & plenty more besides, give us a shout if you want a recommendation for a specific cuisine.
snoopjiggy 04-03-2012, 18:28 Milestone and Wig and Pen are both nice. Eat & West Restaurant is good, but slightly out the centre. Great food though. We also have a deal on our site for Barretts Bistro in Beauchief, which is nice if you venture a little further. We had lunch there yesterday and I had Salmon, Venison and for desert just ice cream. Was lush.
I'd like to find a nice Pub that isnt part of a chain near the centre, apart from the W&P and the Milestone
happyaslarry 05-03-2012, 08:36 Try Barratt's Bistro at Hutcliffe Wood where you can take your own wine. Try to avoid being booked in the windowless cellar!
Otto's on Sharrowvale Road can be good.
In the same area the little French bistro run by Ceres is first class but you won't have to mind the loo at the bottom of the garden. BYO.
Taste, around the corner on Ecclesall Road, also has bistro nights Friday and Saturday and, again, it's BYO. .
Check out the bistro menu at the Millhouses cafe.
If you like your food avoid the chain places mentioned.
leahSheff 06-03-2012, 10:58 The Milestone, Nonnas, Napoleans Casino on Eccy Road. Hope you found somewhere!
Asturcelt 06-03-2012, 11:25 Try La Mama, on Abbeydale Rd. Nice food, good atmosphere. Independent little tapas bar.
azzer_01 06-03-2012, 13:57 Efes on top of West Street/ bottom of Glossop road is a great place to go. They do a meal deal for couples as well. Great food, lovely atmosphere.
