Does anyone here remember Sheafline buses from the late 1980s. They were red, white and blue (as a tribute to Her Majesty no doubt).

The wages were poor, with a bonus being paid for the amount of cash taken, they did not last very long! mega_monty 07-03-2006, 21:19 like most of the companies that sprang up after dereg, yhet had a fleet of old Leyland Nationals Along with Yorkshire terrier, belching out black plumes of diesel smoke Shazbat 08-03-2006, 11:59 Yep. My mum and dad were founding members and got shafted just like the rest of them :( slimsid2000 08-03-2006, 12:58 Yep. My mum and dad were founding members and got shafted just like the rest of them :( What founding members of Sheafline? I think both Sheafline and Yorkshire Terrier started at about the same time (1988) and both were started by redundent SYT employees. Sheafline were bought out by SYT about a year or so after starting. I think (although) am not sure that South Riding also started this way a few years later. slimsid2000 10-03-2006, 13:54 Didn't Sheafline almost have to close down because of poor maintainence of their buses? mega_monty 10-03-2006, 17:20 Didn't Sheafline almost have to close down because of poor maintainence of their buses? Wasn't that Sheffield Omnibus with the old blue and white double deckers ? |
