I start work on Tuesday! I found out this morning. I am so thankful to you all for the help and support I received and I followed up anything suitable that any of you suggested.

In the end, I got the job from a lead from my sister-in-law, to whom I am eternally grateful.

My hours wil be 6 - 2.30 Monday to Thursday and 6 - 1:30 on Fridays.

I like the sound of the hours as this will give me more time during the day, especially with the nice weather coming up.

I involves laundering hospital linen. It isn't fantastic pay, but I don't care, it keeps me off the dole.

My wife has a PT job so the two incomes together keep our heads above water, and I still have a nice cheque from my redundancy!!

I am giving my son a bit of cash to spend as he likes, my wife is going to get all her holiday clothes (I already have most of mine) and there will be a few more treats.

Well done Sam. So long as you're happy is the main thing.

Thanks. that's what I thought. The nice thing is, I haven't had to go throught he messy process of signing on.

Actually, there is no need to. I had another job sewn up and should have started tomorrow - this would have been temp, I know, but so what.

Surely £200 + per week is better than the dole.

I'll start my job on Tuesday and see it as a challenge to either move up , or use it as a fill-in to better things.

In the meantime, I am going to have a nice Easter.

By the way, you know the nice cheque my ex-employer kindly gave me last week on my departure: well around £1200 of it will pay for a Teaching English as a foreign language teaching course for me later this year.

Ha ha!!!

I got in my car about an hour ago and put the keys in the ignition. Some of the keys fell off the keyring and landed on the car floor.

I picked them up and discovered there were four keys on one ring that had broken away: my ex work's front door key, my old department's door key, my old work's filing cabinet drawer key and my old personal locker key.

That is the honest truth.

This has never happened before. Weird or what?

Needless to say, they won't be going back on the keyring.
