Jadrix29 06-03-2006, 10:30 PM Rushdale road is a nice place to live. I was renting out a house there last year, plus its near to Meersbrook Park. You do get groups of teenagers hanging about near Steve's Convenience store, but they don't bother anybody and keep themselve to themsleves. The locals are friendly too and there is a good mixture of people. I would say the best suggestion is to view the property and have a look at the area (make up your own mind). Hope this helps and best of luck with the house hunting whitestatic 06-03-2006, 10:54 PM Hi. My boyfriend (and so I) lived on Rushdale Rd for a little over 6 monthts last year. Like Jadrix29 said you do get a few kids hanging outside steves but other than that it was a nice area. I always felt safe walking home late at night. There are some nice restaurants just down the road and a nice vegetable store. I always found people would acknowledge you or say hi and it was safe enough for familys to feel safe taking their children out on Halloween! I never heard anything about crime trouble. Pipine 06-03-2006, 11:16 PM I live in meersbrook and its great. People do say hello in the street which I've never had anywhere else that I've lived in sheffield, plus the park is brilliant (one of the best views in sheffield if you hike to the top of it) and its walking distance from town. Always felt safe and I have lovely neighbours. I know several people who live on Rushdale and they're happy :-) Musey 07-03-2006, 11:14 PM I live on Rushdale Rd now and have never had a problem with crime. Folk are friendly, like the others have said there are some kids around Steve's store at the end but they've never caused me a problem. ReverendSam 08-03-2006, 12:26 PM Nothing wrong with Rushdale Road, and as for the kids that hang around the corner shop, the residents association (very active) has tried to sort the problems with the local kids (the 'Meersbrook Massive' - as they are comically regarded). A series of volunteer and community policing have been trying to change the culture of the kids that hang around and numbers are going down, either way they are completely harmless. If moving to 2 doors either side of Steves corner shop you may have a small issue of them sitting on your wall etc, if you are 5-10 doors away its the better area of the city for the price of housing.
