the fonz 05-03-2006, 03:41 PM Deep Dish are coming to sheffield in April to play at UG.
There cant be too much wrong with the clubbing scene in Sheffield if we can play host to legends.
Dave Clarke and Deep Dish, nice
Well done to the UG boys.
fnkysknky 05-03-2006, 07:54 PM Saw them at Global Gathering last year and they rocked the place. Definitely won't be missing this :D
Randy Savage 05-03-2006, 08:02 PM AWESOME! What date are the playing?
fnkysknky 05-03-2006, 08:07 PM Not sure but it's usually last or second to last Friday of the month - so either 21st or 28th April at a guess.
BennyBlanco 05-03-2006, 09:02 PM it's the 28th, i believe.
it's gonna be huge.
PROJECT 06-03-2006, 01:43 PM sure is
Danny Howells
Dave Clarke
Deep Dish
when people gonna realise funky house is dead. Long live its harder darker dirtier brother. Progressive House is the way forward.

Idiot :suspect:
BennyBlanco 06-03-2006, 02:48 PM I wouldn't say funky house is dead mate - think of it this way, if all you ever heard in every club, on every night was progressive house, you would soon get bored of it.
(I much prefer progressive house to its funky cousin BTW)
BRINGITON 06-03-2006, 03:01 PM :( sure is
Danny Howells
Dave Clarke
Deep Dish

Why do certain things have to be 'In' or 'Out'??? I just don't get it, you either like it or you don't! Oh, and prog would appear to me the way backwards - epic breakdowns anyone??? Not sure Danny Howells would thank you for labelling him like that, some DJs are far more diverse and he's definately one of them.
Anyway, I'm just moaning coz it's Monday..:(
clipboard 06-03-2006, 03:18 PM i wouldn't have said dave clarke was 'prog house' either.
BRINGITON 06-03-2006, 03:26 PM i wouldn't have said dave clarke was 'prog house' either.
Word. He's about as 'prog' as you are!
That said, I bet we've all got a heap of prog records we're not using anymore - we could start a revival night, seeing as it seems to be back in fashion with the kids.
welchiewelch 06-03-2006, 04:21 PM I don't have a clue what any of you are on about.
But Deep Dish have always been a quality act.
PROJECT 06-03-2006, 05:02 PM so bascially we are all agreed that this is good, and no matter who plays what these guys are world class djs and its good seeing them in sheffield.
IMO Id say dave clarke is definately a bit more technoish, he aint no lizard man though, and djs are definately a lot more diverse nowadays.
the fonz 06-03-2006, 05:09 PM and danny howells, oh yeah i forgot and im supposed to be going.
The new deep dish album is out soon, which is also good.

how do you know?! yeh i have loads of prog lurking in my attic from my 'union' days at the space in leeds. that stuff would just bore me to death now.
oh well, thank god for decent club nights playing stuff we want to hear.
SpeedwayDan 06-03-2006, 10:25 PM dave clarke was one of the pioneers for british techno, although now he plays alot of electro
PROJECT 03-04-2006, 11:59 AM tickets on sale, anyone going?
lowlife 03-04-2006, 12:46 PM i think the fonz has a good point ! sheffield is the best place to be when it goes off, and urban gorilla has to be easily one of the best nights in the country. without those guys no tuesday club, no ug, sheff would be worth moaning about then for people into dance music, but as it is i think its pretty amazing:love:
stick 03-04-2006, 02:52 PM actually i dont agree with some of your point there..:help:
theres a hell of a lot more going on in sheffield than ug and tuesday club.
Its a bit bizarre to say that sheffield would be worth moaning about if we didnt have those 2 nights.
phonetics, thiswayup, dubcentral, plug, metropolis, d n b arena, inside out, runaway girl... and a certain lights down low to name but a few. Have you seen the lineups at plug - really diverse and fresh.
Dont get me wrong i think ug and tuesday club are fantastic but thats not to say theres not a lot of other stuff going on too.
I expected better from you mr lowlife.
ey_up 04-04-2006, 01:04 PM In fact on the same night as that UG thing at the University, Plug have got DJ Premier, DJ Format and Killa Kella which is imo a much better line-up
lowlife 04-04-2006, 02:36 PM sorry! i wasnt trying to be negative - at all! :P
tak703 04-04-2006, 04:33 PM Dont forget it was the Tuesday Club / UG guys who have already brought Format & Killa Kella to Sheffield at least 3 times each over the years the last however many years it's been going! All due respect to Plug for a hefty lineup but the Tuesday Club have been there doing their thing for a lot longer.
green 04-04-2006, 06:58 PM i cant help but laugh at how many alias's are involved in this topic.....
Anyhows...surely tis all good in Sheffield, some fantastic lineups at both the Uni & Plug, and im sure there is plenty of other underground events on that night aswell....lets just all hope that theres plenty of people to ensure all these events are healthy and appreciate the quality of music being brought to this fair city!!!!
johnbradley 06-04-2006, 12:03 AM dont forget wall of balls at the earl:) last week the mc was like Derek B on pills
although its on the same nite as this lights down low thing that one hears about...daymn!
PROJECT 28-04-2006, 12:25 PM so is anyone going tonight.
I think there is an afterparty at DQ late bar.
brummieade 28-04-2006, 12:35 PM head the ug boys r trying to blag evil9 (i think) to play at the after party?
cant wait for nic fanciulli - havent seen him dj in a few years - although ive been told he is playing the 11o'clock set???
does any one know what time the after party will go on till? ahhhhh, feels like the good ol days of insomniacz!!!!
fnkysknky 29-04-2006, 03:07 AM Well that was good. Felt like **** so came home early. Missed Sharam but I'd rather I did than being there and not enjoying it. Nic Fanciulli was good but I just couldn't be arsed.

Elite Force loved it... Adam Freeland. I love him.
Quality night.
LuckyR 29-04-2006, 04:10 PM worth every bit of rubbishness that i feel this morning. adam freeland was awesome despite the sparse attendance
DaisyBoo 29-04-2006, 09:35 PM f***ing awesome night. felt like utter turd this morning but was well worth it. best night ive had in sheff for ages :D :D

i couldnt believe Freeland and Shack got the smaller room, i was suprised even more when there was a bigger turn out for Nic and Sharam.
loved it though, was nice being able to move.
DQ was the busiest ive seen it even at 5, and my mate who opened it was shocked too. great turn out from the UG lot.

brummieade 30-04-2006, 05:05 PM what a quality nite.... deep dish lad was great but adam freeland completely rocked it!!!
the after party was s-h-i-t hot as well....just like the after parties in ibiza...

PROJECT 02-05-2006, 10:19 AM the after party was definately class, got stuck staring at the lazers for a while but once i got over that i was very impressed from what i can remember. DUGQ should definately happen more (do you see what i did there)
