View Full Version : Greek yoghurt and bio yoghurt...what to do with them?
Im trying to be healthy, so ive bought some low fat greek yoghurt and low fat plain 'bio'yoghurt-whatever that is!
I am wondering if anyone has any sugestion sfor what i can now do with them! OOOOPS! Not very prepared am i!
I have made some tatziki-greek thingy-using a bit of each, plus garlic and mint. But im sort of stuck now! I hate eating yohurt by itself, so having fresh fruit and yog is out of the wondow im afraid!
jojojoanna1 04-03-2006, 14:48 you can use it as a base for and dips or salad dressings. add some honey and muslie to your greek yoghurt its yummy. and put some fruit in a blender to make a puree sauce. the n mix it with your yoghurt to make a flavoured one

dice up some cucumber with our without the skin, add some lazy garlic and you have a great dip or pitta bread filling
whats lazy garlic?? i havent ever heard of it.
ive got a jar of salad herbs with garlic bits in (dry) i add it to plain yogurt with a squirt of jif lemon and some salt n pepper , its lovely as a salad dressing or with some chilli (powdered or chopped) as a dip mmmmmmm
Thanks all. I just used both in a recipe that i have got for tzatziki chicken pittas. It was gorge!
Serves 2:
50g plain yog
75g greek yog
1tsp dried mint
1 clove crushed garlic
2 chicken breasts
cucumber
2 pittas
salad.
1 Mix both yoghurts, mint and garlic. Put half to one side, then the chicken into whats left. Leave chicken to marinade for 30mins.
2.Chop and dice cucumber and put that into the yog that was initially set aside, then chill until ready to serve. This is now tzatziki!
3. Cook marinated chicken (will prob need to drain half way though), once cooked, leave to cool for 5 mins.
4. Toast pitta, add chicken, tzatziki and salad as liked!
This is all so gorgeous! If a lot of salad was added this would be a main meal! If anyones interested it was in a weight watchers book-food for life, pg 26. Very nice indeed! and best bit-only 4.5 ww points!!!
YUMMY!!!

princessL 05-03-2006, 10:56 Boil some paste and grill some bacon and mushrooms and then mix it all in with the yoghurt. Sounds gross but is my favourite meal!!
Tartempion 05-03-2006, 11:20 Boil some new potatoes, chop up some spring onions and mix them in a bit of yoghurt, stir in the potatoes (hot or cold) add salt and pepper and serve with salmon and a fresh green veg, or grilled chicken or whatever really.
