Why is there a witch stood on top of a building about half way down Corporation Street? Why is it there, how long has it been there and who would put it up there?

(p.s Corporation St runs from West Bar roundabout down the hill to Nursery St, over the River Don :) )

when I was a nipper my bus 47/48 used to go past this and i always used to look. Think it had the word 'magic' on it too - I seem to think it was something to do with tyres but not that sure...

I had a look at this (very briefly) tonight as I was going down Corporation Street - it's on the top of the bed shop. If I remember correctly it was put up prior to halloween one year and they had posters or writing on the windows that said their prices were "simply magical" or something along those lines. They obviously forgot to remove it. I don't even know if that shop is still open anymore now.
