View Full Version : Creating a link
wizzardofODD 03-03-2006, 22:36 just a question for anyone who knows really , how do you create a link so that you can type words like "click here" to view the link instead of inserting the full url of the website ie:- http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/... in simple terms how do i alter the link into words like "click here" so it takes you to the website
all help appreciated thanx

Ok when you go to reply (I have only just learnt this and the first time I have done it) to a post, youwill see a little "world" icon with what looks like a paperclip. Click on that then copy and paste yourlink in the box that pops up. Press ok, then hit delete once (it deletes the highlighted text) then insert the text you want.

Then paste the copied link. The end result is the same.

wizzardofODD 03-03-2006, 23:49 the one i did worked :)
Lets see now
It still looks the same as the one before what didn't work. It might have been something to do with the pic I tried to put on.
wizzardofODD 03-03-2006, 23:56 keep trying , i did it 2nd time
OK LAST GO
It looks the same again.
I clicked the world thing, then copy and pasted my link into the box, then highlighted and deleted the link, then wrote what I wrote...Thats right isnt it?
wizzardofODD 04-03-2006, 00:05 when you clik ok ..... the link you pasted in the box should appear twice (2nd 1 hilighted blue) hit delete once so the hi-lited bit goes & type what u want there then submit msg
Alternatively you can manually do it...
Type the following
(URL="urlgoeshere")texthere(/URL)
where the website you wish to link to goes where it says urlgoeshere, and the text description goes in texthere
Replace ( ) with [ ]
eg BBC NEWS (http://news.bbc.co.uk)
hope that makes sense...
Like this? (http://mypage.bluewin.ch/a-z/valentina/yipeee.jpg)
