The kick off at tonight's match at Bramall Lane has been put back 15 mins to 8pm but if snow still keeps falling, there is a possibility the game against Crewe could be called off.
At 7pm the pitch was deemed playable but the concerns are for the surrounding areas and spectator safety. As of now, it has stopped snowing and much depends on that.

saw my garden, about 20 mins ago, and said "no way! the season ticket is staying right there in the drawer!"

my garden's white-over at the moment; no way am I trailing to the lane, not even for my beloved blades!!!

PT - get yourself to a Sky Sports screen. If it doesn't snow any more, it should be on. The players are WARMING up!

Is there coverage of this match on the radio?
If so - what station?
Cheers

That's right but it's hard to follow, playing with a lemon-coloured ball on a snow-covered pitch! 0-0 at half-time. Blades frozen out by Crewe so far.

How would you propose that PT gets to the lane in her wheelchair then?

Final Score 0-0. The first time Crewe has kept a clean sheet away from home this season.

Why should it surprise you that, seeing as I am a chair-user, that I would not want to venture out and freeze my metaphorical rocks off, when it's brass-monkeys out there? if I were able boodied, and could stamp about, and keep myself warm at the match,, then fine... but as I can't...

I'm not going to put myself at risk by sitting still, in my chair for 2 to 2.5 hours in the Fuffing freezing cold, snow, and ice (depending on the match and any extra time played...) to get chilled, hypothermic, and possibly (nay, more than likely!) ill.

I love the beautiful game, but the heck with putting my health at risk!

there's also the risk of me being stranded , and unable to get my chair back up the hill from the footy ground, if the snow was to have come down any worse whilst I was out.

no, discretion is the better part of valour:-
not going out = I don't put myself at risk, simple as that.

I went to this match, the first time ive seen Utd play and 0-0 was a fair result. Neither team was very good.

I think this is a fair summation. Crewe's goal led a charm life, they created few chances but worked very hard. United's performance, I'd describe it as edgy, wasn't good but they might have thought they did enough to win.
The crucial point was in the closing minutes when they were denied a penalty that everyone, apart from the officials, saw. Wonder if the referee's assessor in the stand, Keith Hackett, saw it? You couldn't miss it, a tug, a wrestle, his shirt was almost off his back. A decision that could have huge repercussions for the Blades come the end of the season.
Still, they didn't feel sorry for me in 1973 when they evicted first-class cricket from the Lane!

Ref last night was an incompetent numpty. Blatant penalty - calling back play when we had advantage etc. :suspect:
