Do people think that Wisewood is a rough part of Sheffield. I think there are a few so called problem people living in that area and it is predominantly councill housing.

Is it regarded as a rough area or not.

Depends where in wisewood you mean, I live sort of Wisewood/Hillsborough but not on a council estate, so its not all council. Obviously theres trouble wherever you live, I wouldnt say its any worse than most areas.

What about the Dial House Club. Didn't that have a bit of a dodgy reputation?

And also, I know they have some sort of residents committee and a few of the people on that have a bit of a reputation too. If that is what an official committee is like, what are the rest of them like?

My Nan lives up Wisewood, and she's never had any problems... Her and my Uncle have lived there almost as long as we've lived in Stannington, so just over 8 years.

Where's t020 with his trademark "bad area" post?!

Pfft,,, He thinks any area that isn't in S10 or 11 is a "bad area", especially S2.

I don't think Hillsborough is rough, so would say the same for Wisewood.

The Wisewood estate has gone down a lot in the last 10-15 yrs or so. Having said that, so have most places. There are a lot more feral youths roaming around, being the usual pain in the ass, and whereas one time a typical resident would go out and mow the grass verge, now they are more likely to park their car on it and churn it to a mudbath. Like I said, that type of mentality is now the norm in most areas so Wisewood is no worse than anywhere else

The Wisewood estate starts across road from me and we dont have much trouble at all. Its just a 'normal' area with the odd idiot knocking about but wouldnt say its rough at all.

I live in Wisewood and i think it's like most areas. There are a few trouble makers but the majority are lovely people. I definately wouldn't call it rough.
