:loopy: I note from the news this morning that the Australians are looking into geneticaly modifying cattle with kangaroo genes supposedly to improve milk yield...........I was under the impression that kangaroo's were a pest in australia ( a bit like rats)........I would have thought the last thing they need are Cows jumping all over the place.......also I thought cows jumping over moons where fairy tales, or figments of drunken imaginations. So whatever next ?????:?: :?:  :wow:

Very good! :)
The real story is much more boring. It seems that roos are highly resistant to ticks and other parasites and diseases that affect cattle. So a study is being made into roo milk to see if it contains any natural antibodies which could benefit the cattle industry
I can remember the men in white coats assuring the public that genetic engineering would be such a modern wonder, how it would allow medicine to cure terrible genetic conditions and benefit us all.
It seems that every time you hear about it in the news right now, the main use seems to be tinkering with the genetic makeup of some domestic animal that mankind has spent the past few millenia buggering about with anyway to make someone a little richer.
The Brass Eye "Spherical Cows" hoax becomes ever more believable.
