Gemsoft are pretty good.. just off the moor heading from McDonalds down towards Office World (on the right hand side)..

Unlikely you'll get anything for free but they will certainly find the problem..

Also try Sheffield Computer Supplies on Taplin Road in Hillsborough if you live that end of the City.

Or try the Friendly Computer Shop on the Wicker.

Or you could ask on here for help. Quite a few people on here (including me) have experience sorting out PC Hardware and Software problems.

I had computer problems last year; computer losing 30 minutes per day, sometimes more. After several trips to repair shop, three new batteries and a new motherboard without solving the problem I was ready to give up.

Found fantastic site on internet called www.protonic.com. They have helpers who take you through all possible solutions step by step via email messages. You are assigned to one helper throughout the communication. I eventually solved by problem by removing the scanner installation from the WIN.INI file. The scanner had been in situ for a while but a new printer had been installed. This may make me sound very computer literate which I am not - they really do take you through it step by step. The problem took over a week of emails to be sorted. I made a donation of £15.00 to the site as a thank you.

...apart from the fact my mate bought a "cheap high spec" computer from them. They forgot to connect the PSU to the cooling fan so the PC burned out within minutes of setting it up.

2nd PC ate his CD, the CD-rom shattered in the drive - A CD I had ran on my computer with no problems.

There was a third problem shortly after, I forget what it was, but all this happened within the space of about 2 months.

And as per the above reply, what's the problem? It might be solvable with a little advice from folk on here?

Id avoid Crown as well...they sold me a "slotket" adaptor a while back..small card that allowed a socketed CPU to be used in a slot 1 motherboard. Got it home, and it had a massive gouge across the top of it, where someone had obviously slipped with a screwdriver while attaching the heatsink. Took it back and they tried to make out that Id damaged it myself, and refused to change it. 10 minutes of arguing later, they exchanged it, but still refused to admit theyd sold me used and faulty goods as brand new. Havent had anything to do with them since, and have warned others off of them as well.
