Here at Dalén Light HQ we continue to press on with the traditions set by the main man himself Gustaf Dalén. With his early 18th century lighthouse parties, Gustaf and his Tasmanian monk guests believed in three things: music, rhythmic dancing and the consumption of liquor.
Fast forward two centuries and you’ll find it difficult to track down a useable lighthouse with it being near on impossible to track the now highly elusive Tasmanian monks but fear not as we have what we’d like to think of as the modern day equivalent while maintaining the tradition of music, rhythmic dancing and consumption of liquor (anyone who attended our Boxing Day event and was given a ‘Christmas Present’ will no doubt agree!)

Intimate, welcoming, friendly, warm, independent, different, quirky, relaxing, traditional, pleasant, comfortable.
Lions Lair is our venue of choice and fits in perfectly with our ideals of a modern day lighthouse alternative. Please take time to check them out.

With the monks now nowhere to be seen or heard of we needed someone to help supply us with the three main ingredients: Music, rhythmic dancing and consumption of liquor.
So this month we are extremely excited to announce that we are welcoming in the CARGO crew to supply us with their infamous house and techno sounds by hosting the official Pre-party for their 6th Birthday down at DLS:
If you’ve not heard of Cargo you may well have been hiding away with the monks as for the past 6 years they have been leading the way in Sheffield with all that is house and techno. We think highly of Cargo as we do with all whom we welcome through our doors at Dalén Light but with such a rich past including more memories and emotions than you’d care to get out of most relationships these days, they play home to that soft spot in the heart.
