'You're Beautiful' has just become the first British number 1 in America (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4764678.stm) since 1997.

The last one was Elton John's maudlin 'Candle in the Wind'. Make of this what you will...

*makes sick noise* ill tell you why. americans love mush! espech anything overly sickly or soppy in music, TV, film etc. even their comedies have to have some moral/soppy storyline attached to them!

so is it any wonder these two songs got to no.1? go figure...

As a Beatles fan I find this comment offensive.

So you don't like a particular person. Why, let's murder him.

Not the most intelligent post I've ever read on here.

They can have him, let's hope he stays there and never troubles us ever again.

My mates think he's wonderful but I don't get either the music or the looks thing. He's a bit girly - too jolly hockey sticks for me - and his voice grates. The songs themselves aren't bad but would sound better sung by someone who can sing.

His music is for those who think that Ronan Keating's output is too intellectually challenging.

And the only reason Candle in the wind even charted in the US was cos in 1997, it was about HRH Princess Di, whom the Americans all loved, in fact apart from the Queen she was probably the only member of the Royal Family the average Joe Public American had any time for.

James Blunt is the antichrist. Or maybe it's Jack Johnson. Who knows, they are both plain evil.
