Not having been in Sheffield long, or more specifically Hillsborough, can anyone recommend a good chip shop that sells really thick cut chips, (not sweaty chips) and proper chip shop curry sauce. I have tried Holme Lane Chippy which seems best so far - Taplin Chippy's curry sauce is basically vinegar, but I haven't tried any at the other end going towards Halifax Road, past Fitness First. Can anyone suggest any super duper chip shops?

Mermaid chippy on Holme Lane is probably the best but Todays Catch on Halifax Rd is good too(think it's still called that):thumbsup:

Has anyone tried the new chippy at where the new shops are at wadsley bridge yet?just wondered what they were like?

Taplin chippy used to be good until it was took over by new people who dont cook good old chip shop chips.

Have you tried there chilli sauce.....its pured (sp) cabbage soup with a bit of chilli powder in it!:gag:
