I know we have some wonderful tekkies on ere ...... (yes you can guess I am stuck ere)

basically I want to create some polls for my website, but I want to do them myself, without having popups and banners splattered allover the page, the webpackage I use does have poll facility but does not give the results as people vote.

Does anyone know who I can do this ?
be gentle withe me, I ain`t got a clue how to do this.
