Hiya

I've been making jewellery and other gifts out of wood for a few months now and just been giving them away to a close friend of mime. When I've shown them to people first they have said that I should sell them So I though I'd make a wee website so people can see them. It's only just started and it's only got a wee slid show of a few carvings but could you have a little gander at www.iloveger.com and let me know what you think and know how much you'd be willing to pay? I've had a look on the internet at other wooden jewellery and I think people are taking the mick with how much they charge.

Ta muchly:)

From what I saw on the website it would only let me access three pictures, but the stuff looks nice to me. Perhaps you could persude someone who owns a craft shop to try selling some of your stuff - loads of little shops, especially out in the Peaks, do a roaring trade seeling things like that by local artists.

The slide show worked fine on my computer.

I would definately consider selling them, though I wouldn't know where to begin when it comes to suggesting a price. The wood is beautiful.

I don't know if it's feasible for you, but I do know there is a growing market for hand-carved wooden knitting needles and crochet hooks. Here (http://www.webofwool.co.uk/page4.html)is an example.

Hmmmmmm, don't know why that isn't working for some of you, I'll have a word with my mate. I will get it all done proply soon once I have the rest of the photos done. Yeah I'm the same, don't know how much to charge really, might just leave it open to offers or something like that, that would be different and I want the site to be like that - not boring like most others (apart from this one that is.....phewwwwww). Guna have an injury's page (for ever stabbing myself with chisels and knives), games, musice, quiz and things like that. Any way, any other ideas and things, let me know:)

Ow, by the way, I'm not sure about the needles, they do look nice though. Would have to get a lathe to do them.

The site worked OK for me Neddy. I noticed javascript involved in the display.

Perhaps the Java version on jackrabbit and JBee's Computers may need updating.....just a thought....may be wrong though.

By the way...your products are great.

They are lovely, but you need the right sort of outlet. Perhaps a stall at a craft fair? But you would need a lot of stock to get going.

I'd definitely agree with ppn's suggestion. Knitting with bamboo or wooden needles is soooooo much easier.

The slide show worked ok for me until it got to "Gerbuts Wooden Ring- Take 2", when it seem to get stuck. Clicked on random, and it showed a couple of pictures and stuck on the same pic.

From what I saw, it's nice jewellery; not sure about the wooden ring though ~ it looks a bit bulky.

Do you make wooden ornaments as well?

Yeah I can do, reckon I could make anything really but not entirely sure how it would turn out, think it would most probably be sound though! I will get the site working and loads more pics of things I've done. Having a couple of day's off at the moment cos I stabbed my hand again.....whooooops...I will certainly have an injury page on the website....tee hee....anybody any good at stiching - but not with wooden nitting needles...ha.ha....owwwwwwww
