Just heard on the news that one of the stewards was shot 3 times at the Kanye West gig in Birmingham last night.

This sort of thing really ****** me off (am I allowed to say that?!) in the same way football violence does. Why can't people just go to the gig and have a good time, enjoy the music? What sort of d***head would think to take a gun to the gig?!

I hate senseless violence, and the're not doing anything for the fact that so-called black music is blamed for a lot of gun crime.

You would have thought at an event like this they would search people on the way in for dangerous items, I know they did when I went to see Green Day a few years ago, and the security was pretty tight, airport-style.

Anyway my thoughts are with the steward and his family, I hope he gets better soon.

As for the ****** that took the gun in/fired it, I hope they get whats coming to them.

Apparently the man who shot the stewards didn't have a ticket to the gig and when asked to leave, drew a gun and fired around 8 shots.

I know what you mean about it p***ing you off - it does me too, but I also know that Kanye West isn't a rapper who advocates gun crime (although i am not a fan of his music, I know he has also spoken out against things like the Iraq War)

One steward has been released from hospital, the other is in a serious but stable condition.Story Here (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/4761326.stm)

I'm not by any means saying it was Kanye West's fault, he was on the stage doing his stuff, like he gets paid for, so it really had nothing to do with him. But you're much less likely to see this sort of thing at a McFly concert.... (not that I'd know) or in fact most music that isn't considered 'gangsta'.

Specially as most McFly fans are little teenage girls.

i fully respect kanye west for his views and ideas, he is dead against all this kinda crap/racism/drugs/50 cent. i for one am so suprised that this happend at his gig, and agree, i hate all this football hooliganism and pointless violence...50 cent isn't helping!
i worked in a shop which had loads of posters in, and in every single one of his he had a gun in it, what kind of message is that when his main target audience are kids and teenages.
