Did anyone see the red car on Chesterfield Road last night just outside Homebase? It was well and truly wrapped around the bus stop.....they must have been doing some speed to make that much of a mess. hope no-one was waiting for the bus either.....

And I've just driven down Lees Hall Road on my way to work and there were two cars bumper to bumper on one of the junctions and a paramedic was putting a neck brace on one female driver.

Plus on the road that runs down past Heeley Farm, just outside the school there was a huge pile of broken glass, a wing mirror and some grey plastic trim.

What's going on?

Perhaps people aren't driving for the low-sun bright cold conditions?

Something went off outside my flat last night around 6pm (Glossop Road, outside Hallamshire) - an ambulance, a paramedic car, and a police car. Only one "civillian" car though and that drove off so i don't know what it was - hope it was nothing too serious although the ambulance did take somebody off to the hospital (presumably NGH).

Me and my boyfriend had always laughed about the fact that if we got knocked down outside the hospital the ambulance would be there immediately but it'd take ages to get to hospital (as you'd probably be taken to NGH rather than Hallamshire). Hope that my joking didn't come true :(

If you think driving is bad in Sheffield come over to Rotherham and see the Dizzy's standard of driving here especially on the Centenary roundabout (the one near B&Q store).

Well British Summer Time officially starts on the 26th March, and the daffy's are almost out on my front garden despite the cold!

It must just be a case of general crap driving because I must admit, the council seem to have been a little more pro-active this year with the gritting......well, near me they have anyway!

I have to agree with the OP that people's driving was inexplicably bad yesterday.

I was out and about on South Road yesterday afternoon and the driving was shocking! No accidents, thank goodness, but I saw several close squeaks within a few minutes. There was bad temper and horn honking going on.... people suddenly driving off without looking.... drivers making really stupid manoeuvres.... it was as if no-one's mind was actually on what they were doing. I made sure I took extra-care when crossing any roads, just in case!

Winter madness, spring madness - who knows?

talking about drivers making stupid manoeuvres, I saw a woman today in a yellow clio at the bottom of broughton lane, where the two lanes go into one, who couldn't wait to get past a HGV, but unfortunately for her she left it too late and ended up along side the HGV whos trailer proceeded to take out her wing mirror.

Saw a bad case of idiotic driving tonight on my way home. I was in the inside lane on Brightside Lane, heading from Meadowhall toward the Wicker, and slowed to stop at some lights which were changing to red. The woman to my right did likewise. Then the car behind her swerved violently into lane 3, narrowly missing her rear bumper, and proceeded to go through the now-red light at high speed.

I saw that this morning! You do get people going like idiots down Prospect Road. Maybe it was the girl I saw drinking a brew out of a china mug the other morning? Or was there a match on? They park up the pavements and I've seen a few mirrors getting swiped.

I'm hoping the new pedestrian crossings go in sooner rather than later to slow it all down as one day some idiot is going to take out some kids down there, as it gets a lot of black ice, and there's often a queue of traffic hidden round the corner at the bottom.
