I used to go in the early 70s, when it had the best disco on the north side of Sheffield, based on Motown and the Northern Soul scene.
Thay also had a very good table tennis team, Frankie Sheehan and John somebody (His dad had a garage on Penistone RD) I was fairly good myself but could never beat these guys.

In the late 60s I went to Play Centre, which had a 5-a-side football pitch. Learnt all my skills there

Yeah I went in the 70s the old and the new build. Stopped going in 81. Steve Grant became the deejay, but I still went back during the day as we was out of work. Still see Sean Kelly and David gabbitas now and then.

Must agree with you there we used to get some lads from the K.G.B of Abbeydale road coming up. Bowling shoes and beer towels, fun days.

my dad (john higgins) talked about this place all the time when i was a kid. he would have been a regular there in the mid-60's. He often told me that they had a great football team that did well in a tournament in london.

i went in the late 80s a few times to the weight lifting club.

I went to Meynell School from 1954-1963 and the youth club for a while. Seem to remember they played badminton in the hall.

Yes I was there then. We ended up in the new building before I left. We used to pay on the door go get a coffee have a game of snooker then go into larger disco room. I used to go in with dave livett and dave gabbitas.
