Gentlemen, so they say, prefer blondes. And now it turns out cavemen did too.Researches believe women with blonde hair & blue eyes were in their element at the end of the ice age.Compared to brunettes, they were more successful at capturing the attention of male mates.Blondes were chosen because it was believed their fair hair was an indication of higher levels of oestrogen and fertility. Today of course Marilyn Monroe and Bridgitte Bardot have become icons of blonde beauty. Its all out of a bottle now, and anyone can become a blonde if they wish.Me ,I was a brunette(many moons ago,you understand),and didnt seem to lack male attention, but only men can decide cant they ?:hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

I think they go more for brunettes myself.

Although the Turks love to see people with blonde hair so maybe it's just different wherever you are.

Blondes are supposedly more innocent, in the part of the brain that is still quite 'animal'

As womens hair goes darker when they go through puberty, and then darker still when they have children, Hormone imbalances etc.

All men want to be the first....so they can't be judged ;)

It's funny, I read this article in Elle (US version) just today. I don't normally buy this mag, but my curiousity got the better of me.

Well, there was an article about being French looking, (brunette hair, light make-up and a look of 'innocence') or being Italian looking, (dark coloured hair, dark eye-liner and make-up = 'exotic'). This blonde haired reporter went and did all these make-overs and then tried it out in a French/Italian 'themed' club. (Don't ask me what is one of those...)

The conclusion is that... you may get the looks, and the initial interests, but she didn't pull.

Do gentlemen really prefer blondes ? Maybe at first look/impression. Do people stay together thereafter ? It's anyone's guess...

I believe that women who want to be blonde think that they look more sophisticated and sought after but it's all a myth, i believe there are certainly fewer gentlemen out there than fake blondes, so what's the point? well my analogy is that women want to aim for the hollywood image of bright white teeth and barbie doll hair, the problem is that everyone has a celebrity status to aim for and not to be out done by their competition.

It depends what type of blonde I think.

Naturals great obviously but if you cant have that, then you have to find the right colour for you. And dont let your roots show!

This here blonde certainly gets attention from men of nationalities whose women don't have naturally blonde hair...

I wouldnt say gentlemen prefer blondes as such, everyone has their own tastes and to me, I find dark hair really attractive on a fella :D I reckon blonde ladies stand out more, especially when its natural... But its a case of whether they're just admired from afar or whether blokes are actually going to initiate conversation with the woman.

Personally I think its all about the classic 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder' and if anything its tother way round!! Almost all women that I know including my mrs!! thinks (thought in my case - hopefully) their ideal man as dark haired! (i am blondish by the way). When I met my mrs she was blonde but in the first few weeks she went brunette and I much prefer it and think it suits her much better!

Its funny i constantly hear men say they prefer brunettes to blondes but i get 10 times more interest from blokes with my blonde hair than i ever did with dark hair! Ive gone blonde simply because i suit it better as my skin is so pale, dark hair jus never looked right on me. Maybe its nothing to do with the hair colour itself but maybe its how the whole thing looks togther. Take Eva longoria, she looks great with dark hair - id love to look like her but im not sure she'd suit blonde and much as she does brunette so i guess its down to the individual.

Why would u dye your hair blonde ? Wouldn't you just want to have your natural colour ? Au naturel and all that ? My hair is black, obviously if I dyed it, I'll look odd. There's no escape for me, but... I'm curious... to people really believe that cliche comment of 'Blondes have more fun' ?

Hardly scientific evidence, but, personally speaking, until a few months ago I had very long blonde hair, now I have very long dark brown hair. Nothing else about me has changed, but I noticed immediately that when I'm driving men don't let me out at junctions anywhere near as much as they used to!
When I changed my hair, women complimented me whereas men said things like "oh, thats different" in a sort of "but.......you were BLONDE!" manner. I'd conclude from my experience that gentlemen definitely prefer blondes (but who wants a gentleman???)

Either.... or even better both!

On two people, that is... though a left side blonde right side brunette hairstyle would be quite eye catching :D

Yes... I think 'hair dye' is not in a bloke's vocabulary. :hihi:

If I had hair that was naturally a nice colour, such as a glossy black, rich yummy brown or shimmering red I wouldn't bother having my (fairly natural) blond highlights put in. However, my natural colour is, I suppose it's called mouse, but I think it could be more accurately described as dead dusty and dirty rat. It's that kind of dark blonde that just looks like it needs a wash. I tried dying my hair darker but it didn't suit my fair skin.

I suppose I'm saying that I really don't like my natural colour and with highlights it just looks brighter and healthier. So that's why!

Everytime I've got romantically involved with a blonde (3 stressful times) it's been nothing but trouble. Brunettes for me please.

of course gentlemen prefer blonde's me too:help:

Could it be because somewhere in their subconscious they are being influenced by the 'dumb blonde' stereotype and think the blond woman can be more easily manipulated, seduced, and will be an easier lay?
Or is it because the WASP-dictated social/cultural labels in general in our society on color are that lighter implies more innocence and purity, and this makes for a more desirable conquest because it's a boost to their egos to say they have acquired such an increasingly rare prize

Natural Brunettes or NATURAL blondes. Personally not a fan of peroxide heads, unless it's done well. I've got nothing against highlights :hihi:

Most dark haired actoresses have been dubbed sexiest woman of the year.
Liz hurley
Cathrine zeta jones
Angelina Jolie
Keira Knightley
and so many more

I think its all depends, i have met quite a few self centered blonds but i have met quite a few.
I myself am a brunette but black hair and red hair has always suited me. I think that it all depends myself.
I do happen to have noticed however that quite a few blonds especially bleached blonds have been a bit stuck up.
I have a cousin who is blond and she is stunning and extemly sweet. It varies. Men are just too judgemental.

Pauly.... I hear ya!

I've always (always) been attracted to brunettes/auburn/black haired women, so when *Jess (*name changed), the natural blonde asked me out, I was bowled over - both psychologically and physically.
I've never had to deal with so many men cracking onto her, I took it as a compliment at first, but, it then began to wear me down. I'm not the jealous type at all, and I'm not really confrontational either.

Have to agree with you, nothing but stress/trouble for me too (was with her for 5 years), after that, I said, 'Never again!'

Still good mates though!:)

Never been much bothered about blondes and I hate redheads as my sis is one and the last long term girl (for girl read bitch :D ) friend was one one.
I am drawn to chinese girls with special note to Malay chinese.
So we all have our fettishes - that's mine.

I enjoy sex but at the same time I like to consider that there is a least some feeling for the girl I am with.
Casual sex, no make that a poke, is all well and good but it shows no interest for the girl and shows no depth of soul in the poker.

Maybe I'm old fashioned and I know I'm a little soft but I find it hard to just have a shag with just any lass that comes along. I am capable but that does not mean I have the will.
Oh well, each to his own, but I'll stick with my idea that a girl has a brain and a soul and is not just a delux willy warmer.
