I'm looking forward to the Arctic Monkeys' next album, not that they've actually announced another one but I'm sure it's only a matter of time, given the success of their current album.

I heard somewhere it was penciled in for early 2007.

At the start of the year I'd have to say I was most looking forward to Richard Ashcroft's third solo outing (and I've not been disapointed)!!

At the start of the year I'd have to say I was most looking forward to Richard Ashcroft's third solo outing (and I've not been disapointed)!!

Me and Richard are not on listening terms since I failed to acquire tickets for his forthcoming Doncaster extravaganza :( I've also fallen out with the Arctic monkeys for the same reason.

And don't even mention Rick Buckler's name - blowing me out on Friday with no reason given!

However, the Charlatans and Bluetones are now my new best friends so I'm having a nineties revival instead. Amazon and E bay account getting some serious hammering at the moment. Then bloomin HMV have to go and have a 2 for £12 sale! Result = i got eight new albums this week! Perhaps I shouldn't buy anything for a while.

Fortunately I managed to aquire tickets for Donny ;) yay! I know the feeling about re-living the nineties... Over the past few days I've snapped up the likes of Bluetones, Dodgy, Suede & Garbage, for less than a tenner .

God bless the nineties!

Eagerly awaiting the release of Pagoda's first album in June...hurry it up boys. Michael Pitt on vocals and the lovely Ryan Donowho on drums.

http://pagodaonline.com/v1/audio.php

Influenced by Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Pixies etc. and a couple of their songs are on the soundtrack to Last Days which Pitt starred in, loosely based on Kurt Cobain's suicide.

I'm looking forward to the Arctic Monkeys' next album, not that they've actually announced another one but I'm sure it's only a matter of time, given the success of their current album.

Theyve said theyve already got enough material for another album, and theyre hoping to get it out before Christmas 2006.

Milburn will probably have an album released by the end of the year.

Looking forward to hearing that one myself.

Bit of a plug here, but I'm looking forward to the release of my band's album in May '06 - The Black Deville Band. It's gonna be titled 'These Are The Hopes We Live With'.

initial 'demo' audio samples are available from our website : www.blackdeville.co.uk

Our music is not at all like A.Monkey's or the rest of the current 'scene'. We've been writing for years, make ORIGINAL music, looking forward to the release and lives in May (and onwards).

It's just arrived - 'Morph the Cat' by Donald Fagen. Only problem is, I went out and bought it on the day it came out and then discovered that if you download it from iTunes, there is an extra track which cannot be bought separately.

How annoying is that?

Still waiting for Kasabian, Jet and Milburn but all have imminent releases!

Out of my above list haven't got round to getting Snow patrol's yet. The others were ok but have not ended up being the cds I've played all year; the Kooks, Nerina Pallot and We are Scientists have ended up being on the cd player more than most.

August 8th is apparently the release date of the first full-length release by Buckfast. I hope it is as good as their first 6-track EP which is superb. Great singer, super guitar work and a strong rhythm section make Buckfast a band for the future.
