I finally got my Haupaunge tv card working on Sunday :D
It works great apart from I cant get BBC3???
Every other channel but that one :(

But the reason for this thread is that I have been told there is much better free software that you can use to watch tv/record shows. Could anyone recommend any programs for me? I just want to be able to set it to record Desperate Housewives and a couple of other shows each week :)

I use Freeview plugged into my TV Card, works perfect :P

I just use the WinTV2000 application that comes with it, theres also other recording software on the Hauppage website available for download..

Google is your friend

Showshifter is the best one I've found so far.

Also Mediaportal but it's not 100% easy to get the channel guide working but it has it's own forums and stuff :) Pretty similar to Windows MCE2005.

It seems Showshifter is not available at the minute.

You could try some of the apps listed at www.tv-cards.com

I just got confused by all the different programs and I didnt know which ones were good.
