Does anyone do or know anyone who carries out digital camera repairs? Ours is just out of gaurantee and a message keeps coming up saying that it can't read the compact flash card.

We have two cards so I can't see that being the problem.

Thanks

Sam

Hmmmm.....

Had it been a single card I'd have suggested using a pencil eraser to clean the contacts on the card. They sometiems get a bit grotty.

Are the batteries charging correctly? Lack of power sometiems causes read problems.

Have you tried Jessops as a repair place?

Will try charging the batteries up, just to make sure.

Also, do Jessop's do in-house repairs?

It's just that I phoned Jacob's up and they send them off - forty quid to look at them before repair work!!!

That's great Tony: is it at the bottom? I'd appreciate directions.

I would like to get it sorted before I start my new job after Easter.

If you're going out of town it's on the left, just after Nonna's and Hickmott Road. Nice people - usually always able to give you a discount if you ask when you're buying.

Sounds more like dodgy CF cards than a dodgy camera..

Clean the contacts on em both (and if possible inside the camera) and reformat the cards from the PC

If it`s a fuji there`s a guy in Australia who is an expert and has completely dismantled a Fuji6900/602 and published step by step pictures and instructions. He is very helpful with any questions. So most Fuji owners now DIY when out of guarantee. His name is jkirk@oz,that will find him on dpreview.co.uk.
Hope this helps

No, that didn't work. Anyway, I took it into Jacob's today and they are sending it off for a free estimate.
