Has anyone here been to Eltarta Andora for skiing someone i know wants to to go on her own with her son aged 7 and was wandering if it would be suitable and what to expect.

Not been to El Tarter, but Soldeu just up the hill is excellent for beginners. The teachers there are the best in Europe, and your friends will be in very good hands.

Night life is kicking too, if she can get a baby sitter and not to exhausted after her day's activity.

This is also the place I went of piste and nearly died, but that is another story...

My sister and I went years ago when it was first starting up.

Lovely resort and cheap too (it was duty free so booze and cigs were cheap).
Skiing was good for beginner/intermediate but quite a haul to ski-lifts from resort - bus journey if I remember right. Good snow too.

Didn't have airport so long coach journey from airport through a pass that closes if heavy snow - something to bear in mind if travelling with a young child.

drove through in early 90's (summertime so no snow) it's a very beautiful place, there's only one road going straight down the middle, hardly any traffic at that time. It is the only place I've seen traffic wardens carrying handguns - worrying combination? :hihi:
