Hi Sarah,

A dance class is an excellent way to meet poeple. I've not heard of any Street Dance classes in Sheffield ... but ... I do go to a Street Jive class ... let me know if you want details.

Also ...

There is a Salsa class running at the Forum (on Division street) on Tuesday evenings that's great !!.

Hope that helps :-)

Hi Sarah,

Street Jive is on at the Raynor Lounge .. which is in the university student union building where "bar one" is ... the entrance to the Raynor Lounge is through "bar one".

Don't worry if your not a student ... tell the guys on the door that you're looking for Street Jive in the Raynor Lounge.

If you're not sure where "bar one" is ... let me know and I'll get you some better directions. But basically ... it is just behind the octogan building.

The teacher is away at the moment ... and classes will restart on 18th of April 2004.

It's on Sundays @ 7.30 PM ... great fun :-)

anything I am looking for a jazz class as well. Any ideas? I am looking for emphasis on body isolation and timing and technique. I am really interested in learning about the mechanics of dance, not just bobbing about a la the forum. I had a look at the dance academy site, but it's a bit far for me - I'm on the west side of the city.

Hi Sarah

I used to run a breakdance class that was pretty popular. There's a few different breakers from the old school era still around and now making a few bucks teaching classes. The sad thing is that most of the classes are for teens. I sort of wish we'd kept up the breakin as it was a good laff and a good work out. Maybe if theres some more interest then I'll look into it again ........?

Ps im not a breaker, just a mover and a shaker lol
