Hello All
My hubby and I are considering a break at Centerparcs and were needeing some advice. Have any on you been?
We are trying to find out how much they charge for all the activities - sailing, bike hire, massage etc? The web site is no help on this and feel a bit wary of booking before finding this info out?

Any help or comments welcome.
Thanks

I've been and though I really enjoyed it, the cost can mount up if you want to do any of the activities, think they range from about £10 to £30/40 ish but can't really remember. Think an hour of Archery was about £20 (but that was a couple of years ago). Think people base most of their day around the free pool area then do activities here and there. Think there is a brouchure with a list of activities and prices if you contact them

I`ve been 4 times and the last time was in december. We really enjoy it as you can do as little or as much as you like. I would reccomend the spa experience. You pay about £30 for 3 hours. The place you go to is near the entrance and it loads of steam rooms and saunas with different scented steam. There`s relaxation rooms, a zen garden, swimming pool. Loads of different thing to do and you can go in them as many times as you want. I don`t think the activities are over priced. All i would say is that if you`ve got enough room in your car take all your own drink. They were charging £2.90 for a pint of John smiths. Also it`s expensive to eat out. There is a pub just left of the main entrance that does lovely meals if you wanted to eat out.
Great place for the kids. Mine always ended up looking like prunes as they`d been in the water that much. Get yourselves off, you`ll love it.

Thanks for the comments. Will give it a go I think. Like the idea of relaxing in the pool and spa.
Cheers

I've been twice, to the Sherwood Forest one, and then to the Longleat one for my 21st Birthday almost 9 years ago.

Ive been a few time before, loads of fun if you have kids, but can be quite expensive, especially with activities and eating out. I totally recommend the swimming area. great fun on the rapids!

I love it, been quite a few times.

We've been to Oasis (in the Lake District), Sherwood and Elvedon. They are all very similar.

I found the prices to be similar to what you'd pay normally for hire of courts etc. We always used to take our own Squash and Badminton Rackets (but don't play anymore). The facilities have improved a lot since we first started going. We always take a big pack of groceries, usually enough to last for most of our stay apart from fresh milk and bread. I didn't find the prices at the on-site supermarket too bad though to be honest. Eating out, like everywhere can soon add up and the 'snacks' in some of the places are not particularly good value for money. If you go to Sherwood, there's a Sainsbury's not too far away near Ollerton.

The Spa experience is a must. Total bliss and relaxation (particularly if you avoid the family sessions). Some of the 'off-site' activities can be pricey - but they sound fun - I'd love to try the quad-biking.

I'm hoping hubby is going to take me for a midweek break pretty soon - fingers crossed x

i'm going tomorrow.. but have been quite a few times before and although you can do quite a lot without spending much.. many of the activities are quite pricey and if you arent wanting to be spending too much on food the best idea is probably to take some with ya.. XX

o yeah.. and yes the spa is great!

The first couple of times I went it was great, hardly anyone there, peacefull, relaxing and fun. However, the last time we went the place was absolutely packed, it was standing room only in the pool and we couldn't get into any of the restaurants until realy late at night, the whole place was like Meadowhall at Christmas.

We've been twice a year for last few years. Yes it can get pricey, especially if you eat out for every meal! We usually go to M&S beforehand and stock up on luxury ready meals and treats (so not chained to the stove!) & still cheaper that eating out. We're always so chilled and worn out (From chilling!) that it's nice to stay in crack open a bottle and have a nice meal. The supermarket on site is reasonably priced and stocks a very good range considering it's size.
I have the price list from Nov 2005. I think bike hire is about £18 a midweek break per bike (You could take your own!) Badminton costs about £4.00 , dance & exercise classes are about £4-5 . Golf simulator about £15 an hour (but usually 2people) Haven't done any of the water sports. If theres something you'd like to do let me know & I'll get the price for you.
The spa is definitely worth the money (about £30 for 3 hours) I've also been for a pamper day (about £60, you get lunch the spa and can use th pool and facilities all day) great for stress busting.
All in all a great break, always come back refreshed and only travelled 40 minutes! (Sherwood)
Also, would recommend the 'Executive' accomodation. In 3 Bed you get a Jacuzzi bath, own sauna and best of all a dishwasher! If you go with friends the 4 bed exec is a great treat (although pricey) as you get a steam room, sauna and hot tub. Ok if you want to spend time together in the house in the evenings. At Sherwood they are updating the comfort/basic villas. I think they are called comfort plus or comfort something. Have stayed in the comfort but wouldn't again.
Yes you might have guessed, we love it at centre parcs! Have taken the kids to far flung places, ask them where their favourite place is and it's Centre Parcs everytime. I might add we're not an outdoor activity driven family/couple but find plenty to do/not do here!
Hope this is a help, I know it's along while since you posted this thread!

I been to the Elvedon Forest quite a few times for the weekend. It's good fun We usually take ready meals for the Friday night and then have sandwich's and snacks from the lagoon bar for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Then on the Saturday evening we go out for a meal and on the Sunday Evening we cook a meal

We went and we loved it. Thought we would hate it but it is so child friendly it makes life with a baby/toddler so easy. We rode our bikes lots and went to the pool and had one activity treat each so it was not that expensive.

We had a discounted break when it was pretty empty and it cost us £260 for 4 days with a cleaner for our chalet.

Want to go again soon.
