Helps if you let us know the make of your webcam - have you tried the manufacturer's site as they usually have drivers available for download.

If you have windows XP, most webcams will work straight away with basic functions.

What make and model is it?

Find out what you have and then try http://www.driverguide.com/

The site has recently been updated, but everyone used to use the same login details after submitting an email address, drivers - all.

Sounds like a stupid question, but have you actually plugged the webcam in yet to see what happens?

With some webcams you have to install the software disc first before you plug the webcam in.

Download the driver I linked you to earlier, install it, plug in the webcam, and wait.. it should then be fine, If it doesnt work, then the camera is too old to work on Windows XP and if your desperate for a webcam go out with £13 and buy a new one with working drivers for XP
