It's just a 3 to 4 weeks away, perhaps....the clocks go forward , in a month or so. :)

What outdoor activity/activities have you lined up for the advent of glorious Spring?

:D Cant wait for spring! Not got anything planned really, except maybe going on the bike. What I am looking forward to though is, not having to use the front door when I come home after work! The back door is accessed via an alley way and Im too scared of the dark and what lurks in the dark to walk down it! How sads that!!

I like Winter, though it'd be better if we got some decent snow.

As for Spring, I'm looking forward to getting back out into the garden and planting out the sweetpeas.

I think its the smell of spring that I love the most :D And when my Mum's road turns pink from all the blossom trees :D Happy days! lol!

I'm looking forward to lighter nights (no more scary trips in the dark when I'm working evenings) and not being as cold wearing a skirt with bare legs lol :hihi:

Being able to get some decent time in at the allotment, without freezing my bits off.

Maybe getting out for a few walks in the peaks...we were thinking about doing the one starting at Endcliffe Park to Fox House soon.

Camping:thumbsup: :D

Getting the rods out for some fishing and getting the greenhouse ready for some tomatoes and cucumbers.
Just mainly getting some quality hours outdoors.

Not going to or leaving work in the dark. Its unatural and depressing.

It will be nice to see the flowers out down Rivelin and Porter Valley and also hearing the first warblers.

Being able to turn my heating off for a few months and throw open my windows.

Walking to the pub in daylight

Going off in the caravan for a few short breaks.

Doing the garden, everything coming into leaf and sprouting new shoots!

The thing I really look forward to in spring is being able to drive to and leave work within the hours of daylight. For the last however long I've led a molelike existence, deprived of daylight and seemingly cast into darkness.

I also like it when the lilacs, snowdrops and bluebells come out as it reminds me of days gone past when we used to live on a farm and had a wood about a mile or so from the house which used to be carpeted with bluebells (it was ever such a striking picture but one that nobody'll ever see as the present owner cut the wood down to make way for more land to raise his thousands of pigs).

Spring always feels to me like winter has cleansed the previous years memory from the landscape and the new one has started afresh.

Definitely agree! That fresh, blossom scented smell. Grass starts growing and being cut, another nice smell. The air is still chill in the mornings but they're bright and damp with dew instead of fog.

Also the promise of summer just around the corner and not having to wear so many bulky clothes. I hate winter clothing - it's so unflattering. Summer clothes are much prettier:)

Not having to wear a coat on a night out too - I'm not one of those crazed women who wear nothing but a strappy top in darkest December, I'm nesh!

Can't wait for spring, when I can finally take the winter-weary Jack Russells for long, leisurely strolls through our favorite park. Who wants a walkie then?! Which good dogs want a walkie?!

Taking the kids for a walk in the country - seeing how many "birdies" we can see nesting and such...and baby lambs in the fields.

Seeing the snowdrops at Hodsock Priory near Blyth.....always very poignant for me as the first time we went there it was after seeing my Gran for the last time just before she died in 1996.

The wild daffodils at the side of the M50 when we go to see my folks at Easter.

Daylight.

Driving to and from work in the daylight. And the heating thing.
That first balmy afternoon when you can have a beer outside after work and it's still daylight.
Where you don't feel like you spend your entire existence at work.
Reading in the garden. The bluebells and daffys coming out. Cut grass smell and actually speaking to your neighbours.
Having your windows open and not freezing to death. Sleeping as God intended instead of wrapped up in hundreds of layers.
Not having to queue when you go to a club to put your coat in or stand in a pub holding it.
Not using the excuse of it's too cold, too wet, too dark to go to the gym as I won't have time to dry my hair afterwards and might catch a cold.
Lovely fruit and veg available locally and in season.
Being able to dry washing outside (it smells sooo much nicer!)

Looking forward to Easter holidays :)

Just looking forward to having a few extra daylight hours to enjoy when I get home from work. Getting up and coming home in the dark is so depressing.

I'll be out and about in a park or somewhere practicing on the unicycle as much as I can. Need a new one at the moment though as mine is busted. :(
