We were the first to move into this house in 1961 and the chimney blew down in the 1962 gales.
It was posh then, very posh, my dad was an odd carrier while everyone else were white collar workers.
Yeah we ere the odd ones out coming from the slums of Grove Stree and Fowler Street in Pitsmoor.
Bet its not that posh today.

the fraser estate is one of the better areas compared to most council estates
That's strange, I was talking to someone only yesterday and his family moved from Darnall to the Fraser estate when he was a small child along with a lot of other people from around Darnal. They were so pleased to have bathrooms and an inside loo. It was a good step up for them and they were very proud of their new council home. None of the people who moved with them were posh, so you weren't on your own.
:hihi: its never been posh round here not in the last 20 years ive lived here anyway (fraser estate) the top bit towards abbey lane ie holmirst rd / moorview bit is very nice though
The same chap I was talking to, said it had gone down since they put a problem family on there. Why do the council do it? Shiregreen and Southy were nice until they put problem families in there.

So where most of Sheffield mate at one time but the council are there own worst enemys.
Bear in mind we left in 1963 so it has changed since then but I agree that Frazer is one of the better council areas.
