Britains most dangerous prisoner Charles Bronson lost his appeal against conviction. Does this now mean that he is likely to remain inside for life? Would he be a danger to society if he were to be released?

YES, this man is dangerous if he were to be released he would do exactly the same as he did before, it is not worth taking the risk, as he is as strong as six men.

Strange, because on Sky News they said that the judge had hinted that the next time he applied for parole (4 years, I think), the board may look at his application favourably!

Do any of you have any actual idea of why Chales Bronson is locked up?
The reason he went inside in the first place was because he tried his hand at armed robbery at made a ******** of it.He was then sentenced at went down for it.While inside he got himself a bit of a bad reputation so everyone wanted to "do him".

So,like anyone would,he defended himself. Then the authorities thought he had screw loose so they put him in the nuthouse. Here the gaurds thought he could be beaten so they started to have a go at him. They would sneak into his room and attack him with batons.

After a while he got used to the beatings and started to fight back. Then the gaurds took to attacking him with the "liquid cosh".
This is an injection with mind altering chemicals. When they had enough of him at one jail or hospital, they would move hi to another.

This has now been ongoing for 30 years. In this time Bronson has gainded another reputation. This time as a talented artist and poet.He has converted to Islam and got married.

But aside to all that,I don't think he should be released, because in 30 years, the world has changed too much for him to adapt to.

So before you condemn the man as a mindless thug, try readind one of his books. He has had more **** thrown at him that ALL of us on here could put up with.

So does that mean that now instead of hitting people, he feels he has a justification for blowing them up? (joke!!)

So if he hadn't had a go at (voluntary) armed robbery, he wouldn't be in this situation now?

I think the point is that he may well have deserved his original sentence but there is no doubt that he's been brutalised by the regimes and conditions under which he's lived and that the Prison Service is largely responsible
For someone to be sent down for 4years and still be inside over 20 years later, something has clearly gone wrong.

That said, he's quite recently held hostages (not warders or other prisoners) in his prison cell and threatened them with having their throats cut. The terror experienced by these people shouldn't be forgotten. Given these actions it would probably be unwise to release him into society no matter what and who bears the ultimate responsibility for making him what he is today.

I think there's much to be gained in reading his book for an insight into the brutalising effects of prisons on individuals. Aritistic? Intelligent? Brutalised Victim? Yes.
Dangerous? Yes.
It's unfair in many respects but I think he should stay put

He may be smart enough to write a book, but he's obviously got serious mental problems if he can't keep his head down and do the time without fighting against everything and everybody.

If he hasn't got the sense not to act like a hard man and try to fight a system he can't beat, then better he stays inside than be released and take his anger out on someone he meets on the street.
