Two films I watched as a teenager that I'd love to see again but just cannot remember the titles of:-

First film is about a young girl who sees a dress in a glass cabinet.
Don't know if the child went to live there as an orphan but she's not allowed to go near this cabinet; until one day she manages to get the key but as soon as she touches the dress it begins to fall apart.

All I can remember of the next film is that a young woman is tied up to a bed in some attic. I remember there being a window and that she manages to get a piece of broken glass somehow which she tries using to cut through the bindings. Can't recall who her captors were or why they banished her to the attic but I'd love to see it again.

Can anyone else recall seeing these films or does anyone know a good film search site where you don't need the film title?

think they were the classic 'Young Girl Who Sees A Dress In A Glass Cabinet' and 'Young Woman Is Tied Up To A Bed In Some Attic'.

seriously, the second one you mention sounds a bit like Mommie Dearest, starring Faye Dunnaway. i'm sure its based loosely on the life of Joan Crawford, if thats the film you mean.

Thanks for the laugh anyway. I've tried searching attempting titles or using the plot but no joy as yet. It's not Mommie Dearest as I've already seen that one several times but I can see why you suggested it.

No not that one either. It was in the 70s I think when I watched it and can't remember if her boyfriend was responsible or whether she was a guest at someone's house. It's driving me mad not knowing.
