You cheapskate Hedgehunter.... however I do like a maccy's so I can see where you're coming from.

Women often get the wrong idea.... we had a delegation come over from the states in work and the female engineer I was put with asked me would I like to "do lunch at the canteen" thinking nothing of it I accepted.... thing was she wouldn't leave me alone for the next 2 weeks to take her out as.... as far as she was concerned she had taken me on a date.....

Watch out mate there are stalkers out there. Careful what you say and do. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

There are far worse places around. I remember being taken out for a meal once as a thank-you from some-one. She took me to [what to me] was a posh french restuarant on Ecclessall road.
It was horrible, huge plates with miniscule portions, coffee like ttreacle and a menu with no english ttranslation.
Not forgetting the snotty staff who spoke French badly, my friend is fluent in the language and soon proved they were just putting on an act.

I'm not sure I was being asked on a 'date' as such but.... I once accepted an invitation from a bloke in the queue in front of me to pay for my chips in a London Road chippie, then after we'd eaten them (next to the railings) he invited me into his van. When I declined, he burst out, 'but you let me buy you CHIPS!'

:hihi:

PS or was I just playing hard to get? :D

I once met a guy in this pub in North London that he had chosen - turned out to be very Irish and full of (alleged) IRA members. That was a comfortable experience...!!

Well personally I dont think the cinema is the best place, well not for a first date! I mean why do you want to have a first date, in a darkened room, surrounded by loads of people, where you have to keep quiet and cant talk to each other!! I've always found it a bit strange and thought it best to leave it until the third date, if it gets that far!!

That really made me chuckle....you are not a vegan!

A vegan will not consume any animal product in any shape or form ~ that includes fish.

I have friends who are vegans, and they even had to find brands of lager that didn't contain animal products.

I assume you eat pastry, which is usually made with animal fat.

There are people who call themselves vegetarian even though they eat fish although, strictly, they are non-meat eaters.

I'd say that you are just someone who is allergic to dairy products and doesn't eat meat. Nothing wrong with that, but you definitely can't class yourself as a vegan.

*still giggling*:hihi:

Why should it matter what Mz_Babe classes her self as, as long as the reguirements of her diatry needs fit within the vegan banner, then she can say that she can only eat vegan food as this is the easiest way for her to communicate quickly and concisely the foods that she can and cant eat.

Mz_Babe, I understand completely what you mean! It must be hard for you to find somewhere to go out on a date! I bet there isn't a lot of choice when it comes to restaurants that serve vegan quisine!

Anyway lay off Mz_Babe, she can be what ever she wants to be, she can class her self as a vegan if she wishes!

Thanks hun, im glad you understand, but some people just dont understand. If i dont eat meat and i cant eat dairy then what am i? I dont care what they say or think, i know that i have a strict diet.

I dont see why people are so hung up on being so strick about it all!

You are special Mz_Babe, you have a special diet and I dont think anyone should be allowed to attack you for that! It shows a total lack of respect for you and anyone else who has special dietry requirements!

I don't think Ann was having a go at you Mz_babe. Think she was only pointing out that you aren't a vegan. You eat fish so you're not a vegan..................... a non-meat eater with a dairy allergy maybe?

Mz_BaBe
24-02-2006, 09:03
Rudeboy the amount of times i have tried to explain that to people, they dont understand becuase i cant eat anything dairy, meat or greasy foods. I wish i could eat somethings sometimes but i cant. My diet is the same has a vegan except i eat fish sometimes whats wrong with that?

Worst place I've been asked (and gone) on a date? A neighborhood biker bar called The Shady Nook... and shady it was indeed. I was afraid all night of being sexually assaulted on one of the many pool tables. The worst part? My cocktail was served in a dirty glass with someone else's lipstick on it! :gag:

Not my kind of place! Not my kind of guy! Never saw either of them again!

I once got asked out for lunch on a first date, thinking I'd end up somewhere really nice and he took me to Greggs! Can't complain too much as they did pay!
This person is still a good friend of mine but as far as impressing on a first date goes, he didn't do v well. He's definitely since improved his techniques! And as a mate, we've been much nicer places since and he's still paid.

A true vegan won't even go to places which have Ham in the title. Like Nottingham.

Thank you, thank you. I'm stealing Bill Bailey material all week!
