Looking to move to a house on Bannerdale Rd S7, but concerned that there may not be any suitable places to walk my dogs.
It is pretty close to the Bannerdale Centre, so that would be perfect, but couldn't see any public footpath signs - does anyone know if the public can go on that land?
Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

Loads of people walk there dogs around that area, obviously being playing fields people should be responsibl and be prepared to clean up after their dog.
I've never been told that you can't walk through the area and there aren't any signs to say you can't.
If you go up the drive past Holt House infant school there's a path off to the right which goes along the bottom of a steep wooded bank that has loads of squirrels living there.
If you walk on and get to the more well looked after area where the football pitches are there is a public bench at the top of the hill. If you sit there for a while you'll see dog owners usually walking round the perimeter of the football fields.
The top two football pitches have a metal fence running down one side and there is a clear path going along the outside of this fence to bring you out on the road behind the old pavilion.
Most of the dogs you'd meet up there are friendly and sociable and few are kept on their leads.
Almost forgot as you walk up towards the bench if you look to the left you'll see a line of tree's which is a nice arrea of woodland and has a path going through it.

Those fields are great for sledging when it snows.
And there's a tree there that always has a rope swing on.
Walk you dog there by all means. But please, please be responsible and remove the poo!
Many kids play football/cricket there.

Millhouses Park and Ecclesall woods are not too far away.

Another good area not that far from you are the allotments and woods over by Brincliffe Edge.
If you stand on Bannerdale road looking away from Abbeydale road you'll see on the near horizon a line of tree's that's the place. It'll take you less than ten minutes to get to the beginnings of the paths that run through the allotments and into the woods.
Also if you walk up through the woods to nearly the far end you'll discover Chelsea park another dog friendly park which is mostly an open grasss field.
It's a great place to move to if you have a dog. Along the Sheaf by Tescos to Millhouses park/ Woods on otherside of Railway/ecclesall woods. Bannerdale Centre. Brincliffe edge/allotments/Chelsea park. A different walk everyday.
