View Full Version : Buying something to swim in!
SatanInHeels 23-02-2006, 16:31 i am going to center parcs with the sure start people next week and need to find something to swim in.. only i am having trouble finding something that covers up my tummy (dont really wanna b showin off stretch marks) but isnt a full swimming costime as i think they are generally very unflattering and always seem to hurt my shoulders not being long enough in the body as i'm a little taller than average. does anyone know where i might be able to find a nice tankini or something which is gonna cover my belly! thanks X
bjshooter 23-02-2006, 16:38 I got my tankini from primark, i bought two interchangable ones so its like having 4. I also need them for stretch mark related reasons, they did suprisingly have some really nice ones. But i am unsure whether they have them in at this time of year.Let us know if you find some nice ones.

Yellowrose 23-02-2006, 16:50 They should be coming into the shops about now!
SatanInHeels 23-02-2006, 16:54 dont ever seem to be able to find a tankini that is long enough to actually cover my belly though! anyone else had that problem or just me thats wierd or sumat
Next clearance at Doncaster usually has cozzies all year round, and I got mine in Debenhams in the wrong season. Wasn't in Sheffield though...
Figleaves.com might be worth a look
Guess you could always find a strappy top that matches some bikini(type) bottoms to cover up the area of concern? Other people will just assume that it's part of a set. (Never forget, other people aren't anywhere as critical as you think they are. If they notice at all, they'll vaguely assume that it's a set) :)
I saw nice tankinis in BHS on tuesday.
GoGo_dancer 24-02-2006, 09:29 M&S had some in the other day...
I was looking for gloves because I'd lost mine and my hands were like ice, but they were selling bikini's!!!
I should have a look myself soon because I'm going to Center Parcs in a few weeks too! Can't wait!
Oooh, and Asda had some nice ones too.
Emilychee 24-02-2006, 09:34 If you are tall then try shops that specialise for tall women. Not sure of any names (as im 5 3", ill never have to use them!), but try googleing it.
steviewonder 24-02-2006, 09:35 let it all hang out!
Yellowrose 24-02-2006, 15:23 I got a nice Monsoon Tankini last year. But in February last year I also bought a tankini in Dublin from a shop that was their equivalent of primark (Penny's?). Not a lot of help I know! But they are coming into the shops now. Try ebay and look for brand new with tags, if you have time.
SatanInHeels 24-02-2006, 16:44 im going tuesday so dont really have time to try and buy from the net but thanks guys.. i will try some of those shops. X
*Twinkle* 24-02-2006, 17:32 I got a nice tankini from New Look... I'm conscious about showing off my mid-rif, so trust me, the one I got from new look was long enough for me to be covered! hehe
SatanInHeels 24-02-2006, 21:33 is there a new look in crystal peaks? i will look there i think before work tomorrow.. though i think the last tankini i bought from there didnt even nearly covert ma tummy! god i wish i was shorter!
Yellowrose 24-02-2006, 21:36 Yes there is but I think its moved to the new bit. You could also try Peacocks. Have you thought of looking in a sports shop? They are a bit more pricey, but you might come up with something from that sports shop in peaks near Wilkinsons. Also check out the clothing section at the new Sainsbury's, Ive been told they have allsorts there.
CherryNicole 24-02-2006, 21:51 Debenhams had some tankinis in when I was in last weekend
EDIT: I forgot to say....when I first saw your thread I thought you were looking to buy a swimming pool :D
