Onion Bhajis are made with flour, aren't they? (Not sure, I eat them, I don't make them)

I think flour is used as a thickening agent in some curries, and flour can be used as part of the coating on onion whatsits.

I am sure that ther is wheat in onion barjis, but it depends what curry you have, as they are all made differently

Lovely spices and herbs. Saffron, tumeric, paprika... all sorts of good stuff. I love the bright green of spinach dhal. Yum.

I believe they have Gram Flour in them.

If you follow a traditional recipe for onion bhajis there is no wheat flour at all in them- they're made with gram flour, which is ground chick peas. Of course there could be other things added if you make them in bulk.....

Make your own.

Can confirm they are made with gram flour, seeing as I make them!

However, not sure what such wannabe "Indian" food places would add to them.....

Indeed, they should be made with gram flour, which is from chick peas, and so is fine for wheat intolerance. Cheap & nasty curry sauces might be thickened with cornflour, but I don't know if that is a problem. Sometimes chilli and excess oil (another sign of a cheap & nasty curry) will bloat you.

I should say I have very high curry standards. I enjoy Nirmals and Mangla (wish I knew what went in their Masala sauce), but haven't found much else to shout about yet in Sheffield. No Hindus, you see, so no South Indian restuarants. Bah!
