Mark Broom (Drumcode, Soma, BPitch Control)
Cesar Merveille (Cadenza, Visionquest)
Harp on about 6 years of hard graft shall we? Treat you all to a yawn-fest blurb about where we’ve been and what we’ve done should we? Make jelly and ice-cream jokes? Nah. We’ve told you all the boring stuff already. If you know what we do, then good. If you don’t, get to know. Let’s focus on what a great birthday party we have in store.
This is the 6th Birthday Party [ Part 2 ]. The savvy ones amongst you may have heard a whisper about a low key session we’re putting on at the beginning of Feb [ Part 1 ]. No big deal to be made about that just yet. Seek and you shall find and all that...
So straight into it... We have two HEAVYWEIGHTS headlining this beast of a party.
Age before, ahem, beauty would mean that veteran DJ and producer MARK BROOM is up first. Ladies and gentleman here we have a rare sort that falls into the ‘legend’, ‘hero’ and possibly ‘organ donor’ category.
He’s been doing the business at the top flight of techno, house and acid for 15 years now. He’s released tracks, remixes and albums on a plethora of the World’s most respected labels; Drumcode, Soma, BPitch Control, Blueprint, R&S, Warp, Mo-Wax... do I really have to go on? He recently won acclaim via his hench ass partnership with James Ruskin thanks to a solid EP as conjoined artists then an album together as ‘The Fear Ratio’ (and OHMY****INGGOD it is amazing). He’s remixed everyone from Alan Fitzpatrick to Underworld and most likely your Aunty Pam (we’ve all got an Aunty Pam, right?).
If you consider yourself a fan of techno then you will know all about him (and have named your first born 'Broomy'). If you are new to or curious about the genre then come and let Mark Broom show you the ropes. There are few more qualified to do so.

Next up we have the formidable CESAR MERVEILLE. Cesar Merveille, for us, materialised into consciousness via a superbly delivered mix on a well known podcast series known as Ibiza Voice. After many listens and some armchair research it became clear that Merveille was not going to disappear from our minds in any hurry. Several YouTube video's later his DJing talents were revealed at seminal gigs at a plethora of London's underground parties. Before we knew it he was taken under the wing of Luciano and his Cadenza imprint (and Vagabundos crew), subsequently propelling Cesar into the house music stratosphere.
Merveilles infectious jazz and tribal influenced production style has recently joined forces with fellow poster boy of house, Ryan Crosson in a collaborative EP/Album effort hitting us through VisionQuest this year.
We’re extremely excited to have Cesar on board to do the housey stuff for this very special event.
OK. That’s the headliners. 2 big Sheffield debuts we reckon. Joining them on the night will be the ever faithful Cargo residents KASSIEN and GROWMORE supplying the techno and house respectively in the way you know and love.
But there is more. A lot more...

ROOM 2: hosted by HEM : PER
If you knew all about the STANDARD PROCEDURE SESSIONS collective then you already know about HEM : PER ‘cos it’s the same guys. They changed their name, a bit like Prince, to HEM : PER a few weeks ago just to keep you on your toes!
HEM : PER are a collective of young whippersnappers putting on events in various locations around the Steel City and streaming them over that new internet invention. In it for the love and ****.
Expect a wide variety of styles with an underground emphasis at the core of what they do. This room will be the best place to catch your bass and dub influenced beats on the night. What HEM : PER stands for is anyone’s guess but I’ve a feeling it’s “Hey Everyone, My Pencil Eraser’s Rubber”. Summat like that.

ROOM 3: The Disco Room hosted by Don't Walk Boogie
If you’ve ever heard the phrase “She/he has forgotten more about ostrich bronchitis than you’ll ever know!” I’d like to point out that the phrase was invented with Dan J, Danimal Swainger and Mike O’Mara in mind. But you can replace the ostrich bit with “Disco”.
Not “D.I.S.C.O.” **** no! I’ll cut to the chase. Allow yourself to be educated:
