Just wondering if anyone commutes daily to harrogate by road or rail and if so, how long does it realistically take, and whats the journey like ie jams etc?
Would also like to hear from anyone who has driven there or gone by rail at all just to get an idea of travel times...
Cheers

Fast Trains to Leeds take around 50 mins - 1hr and then its 40-45 mins to Harrogate

i come from near harrogate and travel every weekend to go home, it takes roughly an hour if not a bit more with traffic. if going by train, then roughly just less than 2 hours.
Unless it's a brilliant job, I wouldn't consider it by rail.
I'd say you're looking at 2 hours assuming you get the fast train from here to Leeds and make your connection neatly in Leeds.

I drive to Leeds every day...if I leave hillsborough @ 7 I will be in Leeds by 8ish.
Leave much later than 7 and (M1) traffic is horrid.
run to leeds is acceptable but the last leg to harrogate can be a proper pain, makes the parkway look like fast flowing traffic.
go anywhere near the college in harrogate & it can be worse in term time.
Thanks for all that.
Yeh i think the train route is out of the question. AA route planner says it takes 1h18min to where I want to go (HG3 post code) by car which doesnt seem to bad but obviously they dont take into account jams etc.
Suppose will just have to set off before 7 then from sheffield. What a ball ache.
