I've seen a few on Staniforth Rd but mainly at Fir Vale shops or Page hall shops close to the Northern General Hospital

There's large asian communities in the Sharrow and Fir Vale areas, so there's plenty of asian grocery and other shops on London Road as mentioned, and of course Abbeydale Road and on the bottom road near the Northern General Hospital.

I believe it may be Owler Lane near the NGH.

There's a couple on Staniforth Rd, the main one is a bit further up from Eskitum (the new restaurant).

Seriously.

I have found every Asian/Indian commodity (except durian) that I have reasonably expected here in Sheffield .

I am curious to learn what was so special that you could not find?

Fresh Green Coconuts.......and mostly fresh stuff.....we can get fresh foods all over the world, but not Green coconuts or fresh dates either from the middle eastern stores

Fair comment.

Would you be prepared to pay the price that a green coconut would cost after being transported here?
You can buy coconut milk/juice and dried flesh that is just as good after being re-hydrated.

They do get into London from time to time, but usually "freight free" on a dodgy deal.

Fresh dates? No, I don't know, but fresh figs can be found.

Ealing Road aka Wembley, especially in the summer!

You willing to go all the way down to London to get them?

I managed to buy Paneer from the Tesco's on Eccleshall Road.

Sheffield isn't great for fresh stuff but Tesco now do a lot of the other stuff including big bags of rice and chappati flour (the Indian brands).

I just stock up when I go to see my parents down South.

you could try Castle Markets too, in the city centre. There's a couple of stalls in there that do fresh Asian/Caribbean vegetables with all the spices and stuff. I go there mainly to buy my tins of Milo (yum)
