DANNY MCCOUGHLIN
Danny McLoughlin has the sharp wit and material, likeable persona and strong stage presence that have seen him become a much sought after act in his short time as a stand up. Finalist in the Chortle Student Comedian of The Year in 2008 he went on to perform as part of the prestigious Big Value Comedy Show during Edinburgh Festival 2009 and also support Al Pitcher on his UK Tour as well as being booked by some of the UK's biggest gigs and promoters. It has been a rapid rise and it all looks set to continue.
'McLoughlin's main weapon is his audacity: he's so bold he can recite an advertising jingle or tuck into a snack, and still get plenty of laughs.' Chortle.co.uk
ANDY WATSON
This quick-fire act immediately grabs audiences with his sharp one-liners and leaves them in hysterics with his playful style and physical comedy skills. In October 2005 he won the City Life North West Comedian of the Year Award (past winners of the prestigious award have included Peter Kay, Caroline Aherne, Dave Spikey and Jason Manford). In 2008 he supported Paddy McGuinness on his 'Plus You!' Tour, for 29 dates. He is based in Manchester and he drives. Andy has been performing stand-up for seven years and performs at comedy clubs across the UK.
"An irresistible, infectious style that had the audience rapt from the get-go." Chortle
"Like a force of nature he grasped the crowd's attention and left them in hysterics." City Life
"Andy Watson’s BBC1 slot surely cannot be far away... He brought the house down... Watson’s the man Lee Evans was ten years ago – fresh, funny and full of enthusiasm – only less sweaty." Giggle Beats
"Andy stormed the headline set, it really finished off the night in style. He's very funny, solid and reliable. I've booked him for more of my gigs than any other act." Bryan Malcolm (promoter), The Ha Ha Club
JOHN SMITH
One of the finest emerging comic talents currently performing in the UK. John's act is dark, original, distinctive, punchy and packed with quality.
Genuinely funny stuff – Kate Copstick, the Scotsman
The night’s major high point – Comedy Cavern
Unhurried, confident and jaw droppingly funny – Funny Bones
A fantastic turn in sick punch lines – Newbury Today
STEVE ROYLE
Headlining is the wonderful if not slightly disturbed Steve Royle. Expect chaos, puns, variety and juggling guitars, like he has insurance!
Steve Royle is an actor, writer, comedian, juggler , and most recently became a regular presenter on BBC Radio Lancashire. His Saturday morning 10am til 1pm show means he is now a treat for both cochlea and cornea alike. He also a founder member of Slaughterhouse Live sketch troupe.
“Quite frankly one of the best headline acts the Last Laugh has ever seen.” TOBY FOSTER
